July 2024 Updates

Hi everyone, happy July! This month kind of flew by. Can't believe the mini demo's almost been out for an entire month now.

Just wanted to start out and thank everyone who tried, reviewed, streamed, gave feedback for, etc. the demo! We didn't expect so many people to try it already and we got a lot of good feedback!

As such, we actually went ahead and updated the demo a bit with a few more scenes/lines. We don't really expect people to play it again just for those so we wanted to detail the biggest ones here:

• There's an extra scene in the police station between the crime scene investigation and Yunie running straight into jail to hopefully smooth it out a bit

• Some extra lines in Alexei's first scene/the jail scene

• Some extra lines in the hideout

The reason we're posting these now is because we'll be including a choice to skip straight to the second demo stuff when we release that, which we're assuming most people will.

This will most likely be the last update until the second demo (unless something breaks, of course) since it's a bit difficult to keep the first/second demos separate.

We'll be spending the majority of August fixing up the other feedback! This includes revamping the escape section, smoothing out some of the pacing, etc.

As for the second demo...

• The writing and programming are done! It's currently at 41k words total between the two demos

• Some minor progress on CGs/sprites but the artist was busy this month, will resume in August!

• Music and BGs are done!

• Opening theme song is done!

• GUI has been done for a while, but the graphic designer has been working on Kickstarter assets

• The Kickstarter will most likely be in October! It may seem like a long time away, but it'll give us time to make sure everything is set up and to market... and advertise...... and all that fun stuff......... (the second demo will be released a couple weeks before that, though)
