Version 0.18.0

A polish and onboarding release: a guided new player journey, full desktop support, a new Miner ability, a new stage, and a big upgrade cleanup.

New: A Smoother Start

  • The old man now guides new players through the opening tutorials in the garden.

  • Added a controls primer that shows how to play on your platform, with framed panels and key art for touch and for keyboard and mouse.

  • A guiding glow now nudges you from your first upgrade through your first battle, shop visit, and forge craft.

  • Tutorial pacing reworked: garden first, then upgrades, with gentler early enemies and clearer dialog.

New: Built for Desktop

  • Custom pixel art mouse cursors, with a clickable reticle that lights up over buttons, cards, NPCs, collectibles, and world objects.

  • Fullscreen toggle, with a settings checkbox and an F11 hotkey.

  • Exit Game button on the main menu.

  • Auto aim now defaults off on desktop, so you can aim with the mouse.

New: Oil Vial (Miner)

  • Throw a vial that bursts into a pool of oil, slowing every enemy caught inside.

  • Ignite the oil using explosives to set them ablaze, stacking burn damage over time.

New Stage: Gnawgrass Steppe

  • A new stage in the early progression, unlocked after Rat Alley.

  • Introduces the Pesky Mole, which pelts you with rocks from range.

Upgrade Tree

  • Visual rework: section labels and clearer node states for locked, affordable, and maxed upgrades.

Miner

  • Leftover ores are now pulled to you and auto mined when a stage ends.

  • Auto aim no longer wastes shots on ores while enemies are still around.

Upgrades and Items

  • A new Knight upgrade grants an extra sword swing, crafted from a new Raging Essence drop.

  • A new garden upgrade raises the yield of every plant.

  • New forest spirit upgrades.

  • A stronger damage potion is now available earlier in your progression.

Interface

  • "Stages" is now called "Battle" throughout the game.

  • Smooth, synced progress bars in the garden, forge, and shop.

  • Travel menu buttons now have icons.

Quality of Life

  • Tap an enemy on the stage panel to see what it drops.

  • Loot cards are cleaner, and you can tap one to see the item name.

  • The stock panel "Reclaim" button is now labelled "Remove".

  • The settings menu now scrolls.

Balance Changes

Upgrade Compression

  • Ten long upgrades that ran to 50 levels are now 10 levels each. Many are also 2x to 4x cheaper overall, with smoother cost curves.

  • Existing saves convert automatically.

Combat and Crafting

  • Bigger base sword swing, reworked Axe Throw distance, and rebalanced early upgrade costs.

  • Added a cheap early game anvil and reworked anvil unlock costs.

  • Retuned garden costs and grow times.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed the inventory needing two Back taps to close.

  • Fixed the Miner being unable to auto farm bosses.

  • Fixed the shop capacity target and navigation around the new shop slot.

  • Reduced per enemy work at high enemy counts for smoother battles.
