0.18.3 - December 2025 Update

Last update of the year! This time we have new stuff, new mechanics, and UI changes. I'll hotfix any catastrophic bugs, but otherwise, this'll likely be the last full update until February.

addedUI ChangesNew Loadout Selection and Game Over screens have been introduced, though there's more work to be done with them.
addedUI ChangesAdditionally, a new "Toast Notification" has been added to let you know when something's been unlocked.
addedSome Mechanical ChangesSpecial Abilities now have a casting time to keep them impactful. Don't worry, all characters become intangible while channeling them.
addedSome Mechanical ChangesCharacters can now be unlocked by reaching Night 5 on any run. Unlocking paths will change still until we reach critical mass of unlockable content.
addedSmall Elephants in the RoomYou will notice that the new girls have only their default skins and no associated Companions. I'm trying something new, maybe we get all of our characters in before producing skins, maybe we do Companions first (who are also pending an overhaul, by the way). This also applies to the rough edges (literally!) in art assets. I'm trying to build content first and planning on polishing later down the line. I'll play it by ear, so keep an eye out for these developer posts if you want to stay on top of it. See you next year!

New Characters

As you can see from the header art, Layna, Ghosty and Filian are now playable characters, each with their own passives (more about that below), related Relics, and Special Abilities!

New Relics

Relics for Tree-Collecting, for increasing difficulty, for cheaper relics, and even a Glizzy for Ghosty. I won't spoil their effects, so go ahead and get them all!

UI Changes

New Loadout Selection and Game Over screens have been introduced, though there's more work to be done with them.

Some Mechanical Changes

  • Character Upgrades have been replaced with passives, which you obtain at the start of the run. Each character has 2 unique passives.

  • Special Abilities now have a casting time to keep them impactful. Don't worry, all characters become intangible while channeling them.

  • Characters can now be unlocked by reaching Night 5 on any run. Unlocking paths will change still until we reach critical mass of unlockable content.
