The team at Attack Dog Studios wanted to touch base as we begin 2026 to keep you up to speed on the work done already and where we'd like to go from here! There has been a lot of pivotal work done in the past several weeks and we're very excited for what this means moving forward. I'll touch on some of the bigger wins below, but be sure to check out the work in progress and updates pages on the Discord for the latest on Method of Entry development.
Performance:
The first, and most promising progress made recently was some MAJOR improvements in performance across the board. This has been the result of a mixture of lighting optimizations and back end work to try and eek every possible frame out of Method of Entry which, after all, is a competitive shooter where every frame matters. Of course, we also don't want to sacrifice visual fidelity to get those frames, and with the level and lighting work we've done, we're now very happy about the mixture of full and gripping visuals that perform when it matters most.
Menus/UI
We've also made some great work in replacing some of our initial "v.1" menu screens and UI with more polished and fluid offerings to ensure the menu systems flow and make sense when navigating. We've laid out our "final vision" for the menus and are working to reverse engineer that as more functionality is added.
We're also tweaking in game UI to ensure the HUD, while limited, is clean and functional to be as minimally invasive as possible. Be sure to keep an eye out for this in upcoming content and let us know your thoughts in the Discord.
Item Overhaul:
The team has done a lot in re-working audio cues for all utility items, as well as tweaking some visual aspects of certain ones to offer a more complete and useful experience. We've also added some functionality to throw-able items to allow for the cancel of the throw should the player decide to chose a different course of action at the last minute. Several other balances to weapon recoil, attachment performance, and the inclusion of the "Tac-Map" in game map are now completed and ready for testing.
Dev Recording:
The entire ADS team got together awhile back and recorded a long form interview where we talk history, gaming, and try to lay out our vision for Method of Entry. Be sure to check it out when it drops soon and leave a comment to let us know what you think!
As we start 2026, the team is very excited about where we are, and we're also really excited about where the game is going. Things are picking up speed and we're hopeful to have the demos and/or play tests rolling out by years end, (or sooner if we can manage it) so please keep an eye on the socials for more information regarding all things Method of Entry.
From the entire Attack Dog Studios team, thank you, and we'll see you out there soon!
