fixedThis hotfix heavily reworks the world generation to make it more interesting to explore. Before it was all procedural. It was plains with sporadic groups of hills or trees or mountains. However besides finding the occasional monster lair or enemy base, there wasn't incentive to explore.
addedThis changes the world into different biome terrains. For example, the North part is snow with some forests, with mountains. West is many mountains and hills, etc. For now the only new terrain type is snow but I have ideas for more changes in the future. As past of this change now there are rare enemy sites. These are higher challenge sites with far better loot, unique mechanics (like freeing slaves, stopping a summoning circle, etc) and provides new unique loot to upgrade your weapons. Those weapons can be upgraded at a new Master Blacksmith point of interest that is hidden on the map somewhere near the edges. Also, another new point of interest are Master Enchanters that will use new unique loot from Apex beasts to upgrade enchantments on your equipment. Also, to balance out the challenges, now there are difficulty zones. If you are in the middle of the map you will find slightly weaker challenges and as you move to the edges it will get more harder. It isn't a big deal when you are level 1 but when you are level 10 and need to rebuild your company after a tough fight, having a safe zone helps. Finally I ramped down sieges a lot. Sneaky little bug that exponentially increased sieges when the same faction had bases too close together.

addedNew rare battle sites. There are 16 different sites, one for most different factions. There are a small number of these that are hidden throughout the map, that have harder battles, unique battle conditions (such as free slaves), different battle mechanics. and offer much more and better loot that have traits leaning towards the faction, such as poison for the lizard legion faction.
addedNew rare point of interest, Master Enchanter. These use new alpha beast parts to upgrade existing magical traits on equipment or add new ones.
addedNew rare point of interest, Master Blacksmith. These use new rare ore, found in rare battle sites, to upgrade equipment or buy rare weapons or armor.

If you like the game and where it is going, tell your friends. Better yet, post on Reddit or other forums. As a solo indie developer, it can be hard to stand out so even posting once or twice can help out more than you may think!
Gameplay
New rare battle sites.
New rare point of interest, Master Enchanter. These use new alpha beast parts to upgrade existing magical traits on equipment or add new ones.
New rare point of interest, Master Blacksmith. These use new rare ore, found in rare battle sites, to upgrade equipment or buy rare weapons or armor.
Balance
Reduced siege occurance by 20% and addressed issue where the speed that sieges were launched increased with the number of nearby enemy strongholds. This should reduce number of sieges dramatically in dense areas
Changed difficulty so near the middle of the map is easier than the edges
Normal dungeons are retired as part of this change. Normal dungeons will no longer spawn in the game, only the new rare battle sites
Canopy button lowers walls height in dungeon maps
Increase base movement on the world map from 3->4 and moving on roads using half the AP
