Release notes of this version

Melody Mania v1.6.0 has been released! 🎉 This is a major update with improvements and fixes.

Highlights include

  • Click timebar to jump forward and backward in song. The timebar shows lyrics on hover, so you know where you jump to.

  • AVPro Video for Media Playback. This improves stability with a broad file format support. LibVLC and Unity playback engines are still available and are used as fallback.

  • Improved integration of third-party websites. For example, YouTube is now integrated in a fullscreen iframe. As a side effect, this seems to show less ads. Note however that it depends on YouTube policy and may change in the future.

  • Enable 'low-latency and multi-channel' mode by default.

  • Separate tabs in RecordingOptions for 'microphone settings' and 'global settings', to avoid confusion.

  • Darker background in settings, for better constrast.

  • Song editor: Use button tapping to move existing notes. Therefore, select a single note and perform button tapping while playing the song.

  • Update Spanish translations. Special thanks to @wgj on Discord.

Fixes

  • Reworked video sync, notably when using AVPro and LibVLC.

  • Fix audio glitch when changing from song select to singing scene.

  • Upgrade LibVLC. Its changelog mentions a fix of an 'initialization crash'. This might fix a long standing bug in Melody Mania.

  • Save settings when leaving options. This ensures that settings are persisted even in case of a crash.
