Hey there Actors!
Today is the day of the final release! This project has been in the works for nearly a year and it all led up to this point. As a major milestone, this full release also includes a massive update filled to the brim with fixes & improvements, based on your feedback!
Before we get into the patch notes, we again want to give our heartfelt thanks to you, The Players. We've received so much good feedback and so many suggestions & bug reports, all of which have helped us improve the game immensely.
Now, for those willing to dare our patch notes:
Major Additions
Autosaving!. We heard you loud & clear: once you end a day, the game will autosave your progress, allowing you to close the game & later continue playing the next in-game day. Use the "Continue" button on the main menu!
Actor Preview while dressing. While you're equipping new clothing items to your actors, you can see a preview of that actor in real time.
Additional Story between acts. Now when you finish an Act, you will see a bit more of the story on what is changing and going on around the theatre.
Options Menu. You are now able to change various graphics options, mute the audio & disable tutorial prompts.
Improvements
Balancing
Starting money decreased, no more buying out the store on Day 1.
Money earned from Plays now reflects the performance of your actors & preparation of the show better.
Amount of skill points Actors get from practicing skills has been adjusted to allow for a more logical result.
Crafting of Clothing & Staging has been made a bit more difficult. It requires more effort to finish it yourself. (Or just send your actors to do it for you)
Onboarding
Added various prompts to explain parts of the game that were confusing at first.
Improved existing onboarding prompts to better guide the player and show what buttons are being referred to.
Narrative
Many quests have improved descriptions & show what reward you get for completing them.
All the different plays have their own unique descriptions.
All actors can now tell you a bit more about themselves.
Added actor text lines to the play snapshots when you perform a play. (Now you can get an idea of what they're saying!)
UI & Menus
Added a credits button to the main menu.
All items in the catalogue now have a description.
Small improvements to Menus around the game, adding small animations & making them feel a bit smoother to use.
Removed the final bit of placeholder UI. (specifically the show overview before you start the play)
Actors now get a small notification icon when they encounter an issue while practicing a skill.
Improved UI while crafting.
You can press the ESC key to close any menu in-game.
When talking to actors, their textboxes now show who you're talking to.
Added a brand new intro splash-screen when booting up the game. (And you can't skip it >:)
Art & Visuals
All the plays now have unique snapshots of scenes related to that play.
Multiple new hats & masks have been added and made available to purchase, craft & equip to your actors.
All available stages have had small improvements.
In-game cursor has been improved to make it a bit more visible & easier to use.
