Mellow's PillowLand changes
While we're getting ready for the release of the Puff & Drift Expansion this July, we've also been hard at work on the next major update for the base game: Version 0.2.
The Harmony Ecology journey has only just begun, and Version 0.2 will focus on expanding some of the game's core systems while addressing feedback we've received since launch.
More Expressive Pillow Pals
One of our biggest goals is making Pillow Pals feel more alive.
We're currently remodeling and upgrading our plushies with:
New facial expressions • Additional animations • Improved reactions and interactions • More personality-driven behaviors
The current version only shows a small part of what we originally envisioned, and we're excited to give our Pillow Pals much more charm and individuality.
Expanded Building Freedom
While PillowLand already offers a variety of structures, we know many players want greater creative freedom.
Version 0.2 will begin expanding the building system beyond pre-made structures.
Our goal is to allow players to:
Create more personalized layouts • Build with greater flexibility • Customize spaces more freely • Design unique creations from scratch
This is one of the largest building-related upgrades we've planned so far.
Harmony Ecology Institute Expansion
The Harmony Ecology Institute will continue growing with additional features and systems.
Planned additions include:
New research mechanics • Expanded psychology systems • Crafting improvements • Additional Institute progression • New Harmony-related gameplay features
We're also continuing development of the larger Harmony Ecology roadmap introduced in Version 0.1.
New Areas & World Expansion
The world of PillowLand will continue expanding.
Version 0.2 will introduce:
New map content • Additional exploration opportunities • New Pillow Pals to meet • More structures and decorative content
Simulator Mode Returns
Some players may remember that PillowLand originally included a Simulator Mode that allowed you to play as a Pillow Pal.
After launch, we received a variety of feedback regarding this feature.
Rather than leaving it in an unfinished state, we decided to temporarily remove it in Version 0.1 while we reworked the system.
The good news is:
Simulator Mode is coming back in Version 0.2.
We've been reviewing player feedback and redesigning the experience with new features and improvements.
Our goal is to make the feature feel more meaningful, polished, and enjoyable than before.
Building PillowLand Together
Version 0.1 introduced the foundations of Harmony Ecology.
Version 0.2 focuses on improving creativity, expression, progression, and player freedom.
As always, we're continuing to listen to feedback and shape PillowLand through each update.
Thank you for supporting us, sharing your ideas, and helping us build this world one step at a time.
We'll have more previews to share soon.
Note: To officially drop each update we usually take 3 to 4 months.
