MEAT 2: Absolute Zero changes
UPDATE v0.4653 IS LIVE!
A new update for MEAT 2: Absolute Zero is now available!
This update focuses mainly on a complete re-work of Chapter IV: Bauer Expedition and Bauer Boss fight.
The mission has changed. Now your goal is to destroy Bauer’s Base. We also added a new weapon: Rocket Launcher. The fight is still intense, but now it should give players more chances to survive while we are still working on the balance of this fight.
MEAT 2 is also currently 50% OFF during Steam Summer Sale!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: CHAPTER IV SAVE FILES
Due to huge gameplay changes in Chapter IV, old save files from this chapter may not be fully compatible with the newest version of the game.
We are working on a system that will keep save files compatible independently of future gameplay changes. For now, the change was too big. Around 1/5 of all systems connected to this part of the game has been changed, and full backward compatibility was not possible in this update.

CHAPTER IV - BAUER EXPEDITION:
Complete re-work of Bauer Boss fight
Bauer's Armour is being damaged during the fight
New mission design: destroy Bauer’s Base
New design and scenario of Bauer’s Ice Chambers
New design of Bauer Arena - Bauer no longer chases you through chambers in the same way
- New weaponRocket Launcher available in Chapter IV
Boss fight music has been properly looped
Fixed holes in the first mission “Mutant Base” where the player could fall under the map
Damage popup is no longer displayed when Bauer does not receive damage
NEW DEMO:
Added updated Demo version of the game
Demo includes Chapter I and Beaver Mode
TELESTARION UX:
Telestarion bar now lights up when super power is ready
Added audio signal when super power is ready
Added weapon super power text display
Further work on this system is still in progress
FINISHER:
Changed the way we show when tearing or kicking enemies is available
Assigned key now flashes above the enemy
Finisher now works for all enemies from the same distance
Finisher range has been increased
You can now change controls for Ripper / Tear Finisher
Ripper can be assigned to the same button as Use / Finisher Kick
SETTINGS / CONTROLS:
Entire key binding system has been rewritten
Keys can now be changed freely without key conflict issues
Fixed issue where special weapon ability sometimes did not activate
SCREEN / RESOLUTION:
16:10 and other non-16:9 resolutions now display the game image correctly
CHAPTER I:
Removed loud wind sound in the lava cave before the boss
CHAPTER II:
Fixed issue where the player could fall under the ground after picking up a scenario vial in Sudbury’s City Square
BEAVER MODE:
Tutorials Button has been temporarily removed
BALANCE:
You can no longer pick up Telestarion vials when your bar is full. This allows players to save vials for later
UI & TEXT:
Fixed several issues in notes found on maps
DEATH SFX:
Death sounds have been fixed
They should now always play correctly after death
And many other fixes for systems, gameplay and design.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Before we update the next part of the gameplay, we are working on optimization, lighting and effects.
The game should run well, fast, smooth and look insane - this is our current goal.
Soon, these improvements will appear for every chapter together with a newer update.
We will also fix more bugs, add several systems, and then continue working on the final polish of the game content when we are sure you have the best possible Early Access version.
