Match Morphosis changes
It's been a while since the last update, and I've been heads down again... but for good reason!
The private beta is officially wrapped up. Thank you so much to everyone in the Discord who jumped in, broke things, and sent me feedback. You all have no idea how much that helped shape where the game is right now.
So... what's next?
Public demo is launching April 22nd!
That's right, anyone will be able to jump in and try the game. No request needed, no waitlist. Just hit play.
One thing I keep hearing from people who try it for the first time is "Oh, it's just match-3." And then they lose. Twice. And then they're still playing an hour later.
Yes, it's match-3. But don't let that fool you. This game will make you think. Every tile placement matters, every combo has consequences, and if you go in on autopilot, the game will punish you for it. It's match-3 the same way chess is "just moving pieces." duh!
If you've been sitting on the sidelines waiting for a chance to try it, April 22nd is your moment to find out for yourself. The game has changed a lot since the last public playtest, new visuals, audios, more than 100 items in the compendium, and a ton of balance improvements baked in from the beta feedback. It's in the best shape it's ever been.
Wishlists are climbing, but we still have a ways to go, if you haven't wishlisted yet, now is a great time. And if you know anyone who's into roguelikes or match-3 games, send them the page. Every single wishlist genuinely matters for a solo dev like me.
See you on April 22nd!
~ Ernes
