Public Beta Update – June 2026

Hello everyone!

A new update is now available on the public-beta branch, bringing both content improvements and changes to the simulator's core engine. We would like to thank everyone who has been testing new builds and reporting issues they encounter.

Highlights

New Launcher

The standard launcher has been replaced with a completely new version built on the cross-platform Avalonia framework. This lays the groundwork for better operating system support and further development of the simulator's accompanying tools.

Performance Improvements

This update includes numerous changes aimed at improving simulator performance, especially on larger routes and scenery packages.

Some of the most important improvements include:

  • improved rendering of large numbers of objects,

  • optimized track sleeper rendering,

  • enhanced object visibility management,

  • improved organization of per-frame rendering data,

  • continued work on modern lighting and shading systems.

Players using larger and more detailed routes should notice improved performance and more stable frame times.

Support for New Platforms

Support for Apple Silicon (ARM64) systems has been added, which may soon allow the simulator to run natively on modern Mac computers. In addition, testing of the new launcher may soon pave the way for official Linux platform support.

Stability Improvements

A number of issues that could cause incorrect simulator behavior or occasional crashes have been fixed. Many smaller quality-of-life and code maintenance improvements have also been included.

New Content

This update also introduces a significant amount of new community-created content:
