Hi Alchemists, This week we've started working on the new river system for Master of Cladia. One of the biggest changes is that rivers will no longer occupy entire hexes.

Hi Alchemists,

This week we've started working on the new river system for Master of Cladia.

One of the biggest changes is that rivers will no longer occupy entire hexes.

Instead, they will be drawn along the borders between hexes, making them look much more natural and integrated into the landscape.

So far we're very happy with the direction.

However...

Game development always has surprises waiting for you šŸ˜„

The problem is that we improved the sea BEFORE rebuilding the rivers.

Now that the rivers are in place, we've discovered that the water flow isn't rendering correctly because parts of the river system are sitting underneath the ocean layer.

So now we need to stop and think carefully about the best solution.

Will we need to modify the rivers?

Will we need to revisit the sea?

We're not entirely sure yet.

But we’re not giving up.

Here are a few screenshots showing the current state of the work in progress.

As always, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
