Counters

New Legendary Item: Counter Mastery. A single skill-based pickup that levels up every counter in your arsenal at once:

  • Stun: explosion radius grows by 50%, catching more enemies in the AoE pushback.

  • Laser: fires two beams instead of one, hitting the attacker plus the closest threat.

  • Dragonsbreath: fans the barrage onto up to three enemies, each strike effect aimed at its target on the horizontal plane.

  • Slam: whips the captured enemy back and forth three full times. Every impact still rocks the surrounding crowd with AoE splash, but the captured enemy itself only takes the killing blow on the final slam, so the choreography reads like a proper finisher.

  • Pull: the airborne detonation now seeds an on-hit element (Fire, Freeze, Poison, etc.) across every enemy caught in the blast. Pick the element on the component.

  • Hook: grabs two ranged enemies in parallel instead of one, with both pull animations running side by side.

  • Deflect: every deflected projectile splits in two and arcs toward a second nearby foe.

Counter Window Reliability

Charmed, Stunned, Concussive, and Feared enemies now hold their counter window open for the entire effect duration. No more losing a counter because your proc happened to interrupt the enemy mid-swing. Hit them with any non-DoT damage during the status and the effect ends, the window closes, business as usual.

Quality of Life.

  • Heat slider position now persists between sessions. Setting the difficulty to 20 and quitting no longer drops you back to 0 on the next launch.

  • The Game Settings sub-panel in the pause menu now backs out one step at a time. Pressing back inside it returns you to the Options hub instead of closing the entire pause menu and leaving the panel stuck behind it.

  • Quitting the game is now instant. The session-end telemetry hand-off was waiting up to five seconds for a network response on shutdown.

Counter Mastery is available now in vendor pools, chests, and the casino. Hunt it down.
