Maseylia : Echoes of the Past changes
First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Maseylia: Echoes of the Past since launch. Thanks to your incredible support, the game has already sold over 1,000 copies in less than 5 days! Every purchase, review, wishlist, bug report, and piece of feedback truly means a lot to me as a solo developer.
There are now only 24 hours left before the 20% launch discount ends! If you've been thinking about picking up the game, now is the perfect time before it returns to its regular price.
Following last week's first major patch, which focused on improving the opening hours of the game, progression clarity, controls, localization, and numerous bug fixes, I'm happy to release another update today with even more improvements based on your feedback.
Changes in this update
🎮 Steam Deck & Controller
Improved UI scaling and readability on Steam Deck.
Fixed an issue where some controllers would open the pause menu when performing an attack.
Improved the controller rebinding menu, which now supports rebinding additional actions such as Interact, Lock-On, and Weapon Switching.
Known issue: the Melee action cannot currently be rebound correctly. A fix is being prepared and should be deployed later tonight.
Moved the swimming UI so it no longer appears in the center of the screen.
⚙️ Performance & Technical Improvements
Made numerous performance optimizations throughout the game.
Graphics quality settings are now automatically configured based on the player's hardware when launching the game for the first time.
VSync is now enabled by default for new players to provide a smoother experience. Existing players can still change this setting at any time in the Advanced Options menu.
Fixed an issue where audio settings changed from the title screen options menu were not being applied correctly.
⚔️ Gameplay & Balance
Rebalanced several bosses by adjusting their health and cooldowns to create more engaging encounters.
Improved the player's movement to feel more grounded.
Added proper character shadows.
Rebalanced the entrance to the Scarlet biome to make it fairer while preserving the intended challenge.
Added additional Mana Crystals after obtaining the Double Jump ability to make progression smoother.
Added a way back from the underwater charm in the Snow biome for players who managed to reach it early through sequence breaking, even without the Dash ability.
✨ Visual & UI Improvements
Added more environmental decoration near the underwater entrance in the Forest biome to make the area feel less empty.
Adjusted the missile explosion visual effect for a better overall appearance.
Improved menu navigation by making the currently selected button much more visually distinct.
I'm continuing to carefully read all of your feedback and will keep releasing updates to improve the game over the coming weeks.
