Make The Dead Dead Again changes
New features
- DNA attacksThe enemy being targeted is now highlighted in its weakness colour. To use a DNA attack now, select the target with Aim and press Fire. You can now also see the selected DNA attack in the HUD (lower left of screen): an arrow points to the current DNA attack, and the colours of the icons match the enemy weakness. For example, the Smite icon is orange, so if an enemy is highlighted in orange, using Smite will inflict more damage on it. As an additional helper, if you cycle through the DNA attacks while holding Aim, you’ll hear a “ding!” when you’ve selected that enemy’s vulnerability. Just play around with it and ping me if you run into any issues or have any suggestions. Note that hip-firing DNA attacks is no longer available: you must hold Aim while pressing Fire.
Added a new Camera Distance option in Options > Gameplay. You can now move the camera closer to Lux (she looks great!) or further (wider field of view to see enemies).
Added Russian language support. More languages will be added each month. I’m currently prioritising new languages by where the most wishlist requests are coming from. :)
Improvements / Changes
Enemies are now frozen while the game is paused
Improved performance game-wide (mostly in The Lair). Still a work in progress.
General improvements to the camera. The main difference is that it no longer tries to track enemies - that’s what was causing most of the automated camera movements.
The pitch range has also changed
Lux can now look down at the floor without the camera going berserk.

Lux has new animations for running forward with the rifle and shotgun. I’ve tweaked her shoulders to look more feminine when she’s wielding a rifle - still a work in progress though.
Removed the Bug Reporter / Feedback screen. It’s not suitable for Steam Deck, PS5 and in fact anyone using a controller, and not many people are using it. Much better to have a two-way conversation on Discord or Steam.
Bug fixes
Language support was bugged; i.e. either not working at all, or displaying the wrong language. Fixed.
Some settings were not being saved across sessions (audio and difficulty). Fixed.
The Butcher was floating after his death animation. Fixed.
Lux was able to fire guns and DNA abilities while using the portal, which could break animations. This has now been blocked.
Several other minor bug fixes
Known issues
When using slider controls (e.g. audio settings) with a gamepad, the slider isn’t highlighted and its sensitivity is way too low
Subtitles can’t be disabled
Various other issues and bugs which players have kindly told me about. Too much to put here, but rest assured I haven’t forgotten about them, I’m working on all of it. :)
