Builder’s Diary - Part 5

12 May 1995 - 3:00 PM

Maciek here.

I got this diary from Mr. Zbyszek - or rather, I pulled it out of his pocket while he was lying there. He said it contains descriptions of all his jobs and that it would be something like a hadyman's bible for me. That I should read it, absorb the knowledge, and learn.

The truth is, half of this diary is about alcohol, and the other half is about ways to avoid working too hard. But somehow it works, so I’m not going to complain.

12 May 1995 - 4:00 PM

My head hurts from all that reading, but I can finally write down how this diary ended up in my hands. Without going into details for future generations, I’ll just say that Zbyszek got a pretty serious injury and now everything keeps slipping out of his hands. Well, it happens. And looking at him, I’m not even surprised.

The most important thing is that he’s nearby, making sure I don’t do something stupid. Either way, the job wasn’t going to finish itself, so I had to complete it. I pulled the screwdriver out of the socket and quickly patched up what needed fixing.

13 May 1995 - 4:30 PM

After work, Zbyszek wanted to see my house. When he walked inside, he said even crack dens look better - and supposedly he knows what he’s talking about.

I guess that motivated him, because right away he started talking about finding more jobs so we can get everything sorted out. I wonder what other jobs are waiting for me, and what I’m going to get myself into next.

That’s all for today, dear diary. Until next time.
