First of all, We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has shown interest in the "Universe" we are creating, and we deeply appreciate all the feedback we have received thus far. Without further ado, let's dive into addressing some of the questions you've had about the game thus far.
Q: What does the title of the game mean, and why is it so long? A: "Lost Traces" serves as the overarching title for the series, with "Unsolved Cases" representing the current saga. The latest prologue's name aligns with its place in the ongoing narrative.
Q: What do you mean by series? Will there be more games? A: Absolutely. This project was conceived to unfold across multiple parts, each offering unique features and experiences.
Q: The current game in the series is named "Prologue." Does that mean it's just a small demo or something similar? A: No, "Prologue" serves as the introduction to the current saga, "Unsolved Cases." Its estimated gameplay duration is around 3-4 hours based on playtests.
Q: Why only 3-4 hours of gameplay? A: We believe that for this type of game, a 3-4 hour experience is sufficient to engage players, deliver essential story elements, and build excitement for what lies ahead. In fact, the game was initially larger, but we found that a more concise experience keeps the engagement level high.
Q: Will the game be free, or will we have to pay for it? A: Currently, we are working within a personal budget, and we aim to recoup some of our investment to continue the series. The game will be available for purchase, with the price reflecting that of other indie-developed games of this type.
Q: What do you mean by that? A: As our debut game and an indie project with a specific length, we intend to set a price that aligns with player expectations. Pricing, to us, signifies the value and experience offered.
Q: Why is the game available only on Steam? Are you considering releasing on more platforms? A: Steam provides us with various options, including gamepad support, achievements, and a community page, along with a substantial player base. While we plan to release the game on other platforms such as EGS, Playstation, and more, our initial focus is on Steam.
Q: Having experienced the demo, what can I anticipate in the full game? A: The demo offered a glimpse into the introductory section of the main game. The complete version will unfold new locations to explore, present additional items and intel to collect, introduce extra puzzles, delve even deeper into character backgrounds, reveal further details about the world, and deliver a more refined, cinematic, and expansive narrative.
Q: Can you tell us what to expect from the next games in the series? A: The saga's story has been meticulously crafted over many years, promising a compelling journey. While we avoid spoilers, you can anticipate an abundance of story, mystery, action, and revelations in the forthcoming games. For instance, "Prologue" is designed as an escape room experience akin to old point-and-click adventure games, while future games in the series will adopt distinct approaches and gameplay styles, ensuring a diverse and immersive experience for players.
