The February update for Lost Castle 2 is now live as of February 10!
This update introduces a brand-new hidden level and new boss encounters, along with a series of adjustments to the single-handed weapon system and parts of the story unlock flow. We hope these changes bring more depth, exploration, and growth to your adventures.
This update is also the final content update before the official release. As we move closer to full launch, we’d like to take this opportunity to share a few important details with you as well.
Let’s take a look at what’s included in the February update!
New Hidden Level: The Hidden Mage Tower
In this update, a brand-new hidden level, The Hidden Mage Tower, has been added to the adventure flow. Players will need to uncover specific story clues and encounter special events during their runs in order to unlock the path leading to the tower.
Inside the Mage Tower, you’ll face new Ethereal-themed enemies, including:
Ethereal Soldier
Ethereal Mage
Eye of the Ethereals
Ethereal Guardian
You’ll also encounter two new boss battles:
Source of the Nightmare
A manifestation of nightmares themselves, delivering an intense and oppressive combat experience.
Lord Alfred
A key figure behind the Mage Tower, featuring multi-phase boss mechanics.
New Equipment
Alongside the new bosses, this update also introduces a variety of new loot.

Single-Handed Weapon System Adjustments
The February update includes a set of systematic improvements to the overall feel and balance of single-handed weapons:
Simplified basic combat animations for clearer and more responsive feedback
Adjustments to the core mechanics of the Avenger Warrior and Fearless Warrior inscriptions
Reworked most inscription resonance effects
Balance and feel adjustments to a batch of single-handed weapon skills
We hope these changes give single-handed weapon builds a clearer identity and more room to shine across different playstyles.
Companion Recruitment Optimized
Companion recruitment now supports up to 3 companions, allowing a full party of up to 4 members (including the player).
Story Progression Improvements
To enhance the sense of exploration, several unlock conditions have been adjusted:
Multiple core features are now unlocked through specific Story Encounter Rooms
The Weapon Interference function, previously unlocked at the Ethereal Shop in the first level, is now unlocked through story progression
The Alchemy Amulet and Camp Cauldron, previously unlocked after defeating the first boss, are now unlocked through story progression
The Castle Dungeon level is now unlocked by randomly discovering a specific room within the Black Castle
Mudfish Marsh, Saltpeter Wastes, and Frost Cavern are now unlocked through story progression during runs
Existing save files that already meet the requirements will unlock these automatically, without affecting current progress
A complete story flow has been added for accessing the hidden level, The Hidden Mage Tower
