Loot Tycoon changes
The support you've shown since launch has been absolutely unreal. As I keep grinding away at updates and optimization, your feedback in the community continues to be my ultimate roadmap. A huge thank you to everyone playing and supporting Loot Tycoon!
To get new content into your hands faster—without breaking the stable live build—I'm officially opening up a public [beta] branch today!
🌀 What is the [beta] branch?
This is where I'll push the newest, experimental updates early. Jump in, break things, and let me know what you think! The final release will be shaped directly by your feedback.
🛠️ How to join?
No keys needed, anyone can opt-in! Just follow these steps:
Go to your Steam Library.
Right-click the game and select Properties.
Go to the Betas tab.
Select beta from the drop-down menu.
Close the window, let Steam update, and play!
📌 H eads up: If you ever want to return to the live version, just select "None" in that menu. Since this is an experimental build, please back up your save file before switching branches!

🎁 What's New in this Beta:
🚀 Optimization & Big Changes
GPU Polish: Optimized performance to lower GPU usage, reduce power draw, and keep your rig cooler.
Combo Casting: You can now cast multiple skills simultaneously! No more clunky casting delays when running multi-trigger setups. (Multi-skill builds are officially back on the menu, single-skill is no longer the only meta!)
Endgame Scaling: Ramped up the difficulty curve past Floor 10,000.
- Gear SortingAdded a sort button to the Equipment UI.
Quick Compare: Hovering over unequipped gear now instantly compares its stats to your currently equipped items.
- VisualsPolished up the affix tags and added way more gear icons.
- Arena Auto-RollAdded a button to auto-roll straight to Perfect Uniques in the Arena. (Unlocks after Floor 200; hidden before then).
⚔️ New Mechanics, Gear & Balance
[New] Shield Mechanic:
Blocks incoming damage 1:1.
Must be generated through specific skills/gear.
Doesn't auto-regenerate or decay over time.
Max Shield is capped at your Max Health.
(More ways to build Shields are coming soon!)
[Buffed] Thorns Mechanics:
- Added a new affixIncreased Thorns Damage +N%.
Shields (the off-hand item) now drop with an innate +50% Thorns Damage stat.
Thorns damage can now CRIT!
[New] Unique Affixes:
(Skill) When taking damage, 10% chance to gain a Shield equal to 25% of Max Health.
(Skill) When taking damage, 10% chance to deal 100% Thorns damage to all enemies.
(Passive) Instantly kills monsters below the Execute threshold. +10% Execute Threshold.
[Reworks] Replaced the outdated "Chance to restore HP when taking damage" affix with the new Shield generation mechanic.
BUFFS
Skill Area affix increased from 25% to 30%.
The Crit Rate on Hit affix now also grants bonus Crit Damage.
The Reduce Monster Stats affix buffed from -5% to -7%.
🔄 Other QoL Tweaks
Stat Panel: Your stat screen display preferences are now saved.
Arena UI: Your highest cleared Adventure Level is now displayed in huge text in the Arena prep room.
- VFXOptimized the look of Health Orbs, added hit effects for Thorns, and added a sick execution effect for Execute kills.
- AudioLowered the volume on Critical Hit sound effects.
🐛 Bug Fix
Fixed auto-sold items not counting toward your achievements.
Fixed some missing localized text.
Fixed gear comparison glitching out in the Arena.
Fixed settings drop-down menus randomly blocking the mouse cursor.
Fixed the game stuttering when the BGM tracked changed.
Fixed hit effect positioning for Cleave-style skills.
Fixed melee enemies swinging at you before they were even in range.
