Thanks to a discovery by the Solarus Team, they've found a way for the instant launch .exe file to no longer take up an intense amount of CPU! Return to the Instant Launch Format

In order to prevent high CPU usage by the engine, the game was making use of a separate launcher. Thanks to a discovery by the Solarus Team, they've found a way for the instant launch .exe file to no longer take up an intense amount of CPU! Thanks to this, players will be able to launch Long Steel without having to navigate a secondary launcher and will also experience less CPU related crashes.

Slime Kingdom

It's the Slime Princeling's first birthday! And to celebrate, the Slime Queen is throwing a very special birthday party! ... But oh no! Thieves have invaded the party and stole some of the ingredients! Help the chefs get back these ingredients and help save the Princeling's birthday!

To access the Slime Kingdom, make your way to the Town Square and talk to Duke Slimington located next to the Cake Salesman.

Goblin Capital

Upon gaining access to the postgame, head outside your house and you'll find a letter in your mailbox. (Yes, I added a mailbox outside the house specifically for this) Farmer Lin made himself a makeshift boat and is heading to Shipwreck Isle to meet up with his family in the Goblin Capital and he's invited you to come along!

The Goblin Capital has lots of new content throughout including a whole new postgame quest chain, 3 new boss fights and new areas to explore. Complete all of the activities and you'll be able to help fund the Goblin Museum!

Spelunker's Cave

On Shipwreck Isle, there is a cave that is said to be littered with buried treasure. A goblin foreman and his crew delved into these caves in search for said treasure, but encountered great difficulties. One of the goblins has gotten stuck at the bottom and they're counting on you for a rescue! Use the Drill to break open rocks to find ladders further down into the caves until you manage to reach the bottom. Once you've gotten there, you'll find yourself face to face with the deadly Giant Treasure Crab!

Ghost Ship

On the eastern outskirts of Shipwreck Isle, there is rumored to be an abandoned old ship, still haunted by the skeletons of the original crew. Certainly there will be great treasure in the Captain's Den... if you can make it there! But even if you do, expect to face stern resistant from the dreaded Pirate Captain...

Goblin Museum

Defeating the bosses of the Ghost Ship and Spelunker's Cave along with completing the Goblin Capital quest chain will allow you access to the fully funded and furnished Goblin Museum! This building is filled with lots of new world building and lore related artifacts. You'll also have access to the Aquarium here! It's run by the Melas Aquarium's twin brother who happens to have all of the same lines of dialog! Because that's just how twins operate! (Haha... ha...)

You will also be able to access the Goblin Cafe. Speak to the barista every day for a different special drink. (Yes, there is a different dialog and sprite associated with every day of the year, including for the leap year. Why did I do this? I'm crazy.)

Explore through all of the new content to unlock a whipping 9 new achievements! Wow! (Psst, one of these achievements may involve something with those ill-tempered chickens back on Melas. Maybe check that out.)

I hope you all enjoy all of the new content that's come along with this new update! In the coming weeks, I'm planning on revisiting the Steam page and breathing some new life into it with a new trailer and new screenshots! Keep an eye out for that! Until next time, as always feel free to email me with any suggestions or bug reports at kyletassonegames@gmail.com! Enjoy the Steam Summer Sale and thanks for reading!
