addedIt's been a while since the last update, this one I'm labeling 1.1.5 since although it is still a major update that adds and/or changes many things about the game, it's not substantial enough for me to consider 1.2. With that, here's a brief overview of all the new changes being made to Long Steel.
addedFor the foreseeable future, the Long Steel .exe file will instead be using the Solarus Launcher. While this makes the initial boot-up a bit clunky, it has a much lower toll on the CPU and memory, which should prevent crashes on older systems. For the first time playing, you will need to navigate in the Launcher to File > Add Quest > The Long Steel .solarus file
changedThere are now 6 more recipes that can be cooked up at the Bonfire! They stack the same way other recipes do so be sure to stock up on them before heading into any dungeons!
addedWith this, I have added a new achievement that unlocks when you have cooked at least one of every recipe.
changedThe graphics in many locations have been changed to look better and more clean. I have also cleaned up a decent amount of graphical clutter, mostly in the overworld sections of the game. There are lots of little touch ups and more will likely be made where the need arises.
addedI have also made updates to a few of the hero animations for various activities and spells. This includes brand new cutscenes that take place after defeating each of the Archwitches!

Happy Halloween!

It's been a while since the last update, this one I'm labeling 1.1.5 since although it is still a major update that adds and/or changes many things about the game, it's not substantial enough for me to consider 1.2. With that, here's a brief overview of all the new changes being made to Long Steel.

Game Launcher

For the foreseeable future, the Long Steel .exe file will instead be using the Solarus Launcher. While this makes the initial boot-up a bit clunky, it has a much lower toll on the CPU and memory, which should prevent crashes on older systems. For the first time playing, you will need to navigate in the Launcher to File > Add Quest > The Long Steel .solarus file

This should be temporary up until the newest update for the Solarus engine releases!

Cooking Update and Menus

There are now 6 more recipes that can be cooked up at the Bonfire! They stack the same way other recipes do so be sure to stock up on them before heading into any dungeons!

With this, I have added a new achievement that unlocks when you have cooked at least one of every recipe.

I have also made some graphical changes to the pause menu screens. Some are completely different while some changes are much more subtle. Hopefully this will make everything look cleaner and more cohesive.

Graphical Changes

The graphics in many locations have been changed to look better and more clean. I have also cleaned up a decent amount of graphical clutter, mostly in the overworld sections of the game. There are lots of little touch ups and more will likely be made where the need arises.

I have also made updates to a few of the hero animations for various activities and spells. This includes brand new cutscenes that take place after defeating each of the Archwitches!

Balancing

Many of the enemies throughout the game have had their health and damage values altered to provide better balancing through the game experience.

Health, Magic and Stamina for the hero have also been rebalanced.

Miscellaneous

-New enemy in the graveyard and the Crypt dungeons -New NPC in the church to explain lore and hint on defeating Zombie enemies -Boomerang has been changed -No longer activates switches -Enemy stun time has been reduced slightly -Regular boomerang has a trail following it -Super boomerang now has a fire trail that can light torches -Super Gun has been made more frost themed, has potential to turn enemies into ice cubes -Bombs blow up upon hitting the ground once thrown

I have much more planned for the near future so keep an eye out! Thank you for everyone who has taken an interest in my game so far and hope to see some new faces playing soon! Thanks for reading!
