Hi everyone!
Here is the latest news on LION's development. I have successfully finished the layout for one of the full game's dungeons: The Spectral Mines. At the moment, I am focused on placing all the aesthetic meshes, populating the area with enemies, and completing the level challenges.
The Spectral Mines
As the name suggests, this is a colossal, cubic, enclosed space where mining operations once took place. However, the location has been invaded by Lament Specters.
- Lament SpectersI am currently programming this new enemy type. They will attack only Rosamunde and actively try to avoid the kids. They will be difficult to damage and can only be harmed once staggered , making them a tough challenge.
Core Dungeon Mechanic: Moving Modules
The core of the mines revolves around a central mechanism: the Transport Rail Systems and Modules.
Puzzle Mechanic: These modules (rooms) can be moved using a mechanical magical system that displays a holographic representation of the modules and their locations. You can move the module rooms by clicking on the rail points, and the module will transport there. This mechanic makes the entire dungeon a huge, dynamic puzzle to be solved.
Dungeon Item: The key item you will find here is the Grapple Hook. This tool can be used by the Green Pierce children and will grant access to many previously inaccessible areas, including allowing you to rotate the modules to solve puzzles.
