Lil' Airport changes
The steam nextfest of October is behind us and I absolutely overwhelmed by the response Lil’ Airport got during this week. With a budget of 0€ and just as many hours spend on marketing, almost 1000 people played the demo – with an average of 91 players daily. And someone even played it on their Steam Deck.
I want to thank all of you who played or downloaded the demo or simply put the game on their wishlist! And a special thanks to all those of you who reached out to me with feedback for improvement or bug reports. I cannot do it without you guys. All this feedback and some of my ideas made it now into the newest version 0.2.4 of the demo – and this is also the version published in early access on the 24th of October.
New Features:
Click on contracts assigned to gates to get details on the runtime left and the option to cancel them for a fee. The fee is based on the runtime left.
Medical Emergencies! Research and build the firestation to get access to ambulances which help clear the runway whenever a plane comes in with a medical emergency.
Adjust the position of the game! In the settings you find the option to adjust the position of the screen. You can change the height of the landscape to accommodate for your size of taskbar (or of you have no horizontal task bar at all) and you can move the position of the main menu bar left or right, wherever it fits you best.
Close menus quicker by clicking the right mouse button.
For the Demo: Each day a notification reminds you how many in game days are left of the demo.
Fixes:
Fixed a bug where the demo would end already after 21 in game days instead of 28.
Fixed a bug where fulfilled contracts would cause an error stopping any more flights from coming in.
Fixed a bug where the auto assign function would break (I am still suspicious about this function though… I have my eye on you, auto assign!)
Fixed a bug where the runtime of a contract would already be counting down even with the contract to being taken and assigned to a gate.
Fixed a bug where researched items will still show up in the research menu.
Fixed a bug where buildings could only be build on the first screen/plot even if the second screen/plot is unlocked.
Fixed a bug where the game couldn’t be quit after the demo ended.
Fixed a bug where the warning for a fuel tank being empty was only shown once and not again if the tank is empty again.
Fixed a bug where the unlocking of the second screen/plot wouldn’t be saved.
Fixed a bug where the water FX of the fire truck would spray in the wrong direction.
Fixed a typo where in the description of the garage it states that it provides 5 slots although it provides 3 slots.
Fixed a typo in the Airline Name “DefaultWIng” to “DefaultWing”.
- Only DemoFixed a Typo where the word “demo” would be spelled “dem” in the start screen message.
Who knows if anyone reads this, but I hope the game is now an even better experience for you guys. Some of things I planned for the first updates after the early access release:
Terminal hub for passengers to arrive and drop their package
Monorail! It can connect the Hub with terminals
Tunnels – serving as a spawn point for outside connections like busses and trains.
An necessary overhaul of the statistics menu
I am looking forward to see you guys again. And make sure to share some screenshots of your airports on steam (just make sure the window in the background is not incriminating – privacy is important!)
See you Marcel a.k.a. pidibidi
