changedSorry to keep everyone waiting! This time, I'm bringing the gamma version demo of Leyla In Veil! Kids, I really don't want to make any more changes :( This should, probably, maybe be the last beta version—I'm starting work on the full release.
addedRoguelike Removed!First off, the biggest change in this new version is the removal of roguelike elements from the game. Now it uses a linear progression system with save and load mechanics.
addedRoguelike Removed! However, I plan to add an extra play mode where you can experience a more roguelike combat feel (this mode isn't implemented yet—it's still in the planning stage).
addedNew Game Systems! This demo update adds a bunch of new game systems. Here's the detailed rundown:
changedNew Game Systems!I know some of you have been waiting for this forever—it's finally implemented in this version! For now, Leyla only has three outfits, but in the full version, changing outfits will alter Leyla's melee action animations.
addedNew Game Systems!Players now have their own inventory. You'll need to collect item resources and manage your backpack's weight capacity, adding more strategy to gameplay.

Roguelike Removed!

First off, the biggest change in this new version is the removal of roguelike elements from the game. Now it uses a linear progression system with save and load mechanics.

However, I plan to add an extra play mode where you can experience a more roguelike combat feel (this mode isn't implemented yet—it's still in the planning stage).

New Game Systems!

This demo update adds a bunch of new game systems. Here's the detailed rundown:

Clothing System

I know some of you have been waiting for this forever—it's finally implemented in this version! For now, Leyla only has three outfits, but in the full version, changing outfits will alter Leyla's melee action animations.

Inventory Management

Players now have their own inventory. You'll need to collect item resources and manage your backpack's weight capacity, adding more strategy to gameplay.

Plus, you can collect various documents on the map and store them in your inventory, or stash weapons in the armory at save points. Each item has its own "weight," and different items vary in load.

Collecting and using consumables wisely is the best approach.

Map

This is another highly requested system! Now players can open the map to see where they are, and it will mark info like items, NPCs, or treasures.

Documents

Levels will feature file info as fragmented storytelling. By collecting and reading documents, players can get gameplay tips and plot details.

Crafting System

Use collected items to craft others—create ammo, healing items, or special props, and save inventory space. Smart crafting makes the game easier and adds more strategy.

Save/Load System

The game now supports saving and loading with 10 slots.

However, there's no auto-save (it's not compatible with the level code yet, so it's temporarily absent).

After death, unsaved progress will be lost!

Specimens Exchange System

Now you can go to Flora and exchange unwanted items for Specimens.

New Mechanics and Gameplay!

With all these new systems updated, naturally, there are new mechanics too :)

New Melee Actions

Now, in addition to using a spinning side kick via QTE while standing, players can perform a rising dragon kick while crouching.

This move emphasizes damage over knockback and will straight-up explode enemies' heads.

On top of that, you can now use melee to smash bottles or crates.

Monsters Have More Moves

Previous monster attacks were too one-dimensional, so I've added more attack patterns.

Now those parasite zombies use tentacles for long-range attacks and tentacle defenses, ramping up the tension and strategy.

Of course, this also increases the difficulty :)

Future enemies might get new attack variations over time.

Traps

Game progression will include various trap doors—find switches to open them. Sometimes, using these traps can lead to unexpected effects.

Puzzles

Game progress will feature puzzles requiring specific items or destroying things to unlock objects, like locked doors or chests, enriching the gameplay.

Story Presentation Updates!

Previous versions lacked story descriptions and cutscenes.

The new version adds tons of plot content and presentations to better understand Leyla and Flora's story and boost immersion.

Other Updates Difficulty selection is back:

Easy, Standard, Hard, Nightmare. Nightmare unlocks after one playthrough.

Physics system upgrade: Monster drops feel more realistic.

UI and HUD revamped. Battle music changed.

Battle music changed.

Finally,I hope you can enjoy it!
