Leviathan Alpha Patch 4.0
Improvements & Additions The matchmaking system has been overhauled to highly increase the odds of player interaction We have improved deployment spawn locations based on player feedback. The map has been reworked to streamline travel and increase the quality of player interaction. When reaching the end of deployment, players must now extract prior to the end of the 30 minute round timer. The 3 minute high-intensity period players could extract during has been removed. There is now a chance for any area of the map to trigger a Kaecellian invasion during tension shift. While these are extremely dangerous events, players can find very high value loot during an invasion. A codex has been added to the escape menu, with information detailing the game's mechanics and features. A news hub has been added to the main menu. Audio effects have been added and improved for many features, including: Menus Weapons Character Movements Events Interactions Ambient Sounds
Gameplay & Balance Changes All weapons have been reworked from having multiple damage types based on range to having a more intuitive damage and range value. All weapons have had their stats adjusted for the new metrics. The rune system has been reworked, the amount of runes has been decreased and the power levels have been condensed. Each rune can now be applied to armor or weapons, giving different stats based on the equipment it is applied to. AI has been adjusted, enemies should now track the player in a more realistic manner, rewarding evasive movements when fighting them. Adjusted the sell prices and reroll costs of weapons, helmets, and armor. Movement has been adjusted to feel less “slippery”. Extracting from a deployment now takes 60 seconds rather than the previous 20 seconds. Random team matchmaking has been disabled, however players can still group with steam friends prior to deploying.
Visual Changes Most of the Menu and UI has been updated. A large amount of art assets have been added or improved, including: Underwater Caustic Visual Effects Numerous trees and assorted foliage Extraction Visual Effects Explosion Visual Effects Outpost Smoke Visual Effects All new Rune Assets Existing structural assets have been optimized with LOD’s and improved collision A large amount of locations have received updates, including: The Faundark Elder Tree Gas Station with Charging Bays Levendra Waterworks The Ridge Restaurant Cuprus Plaza Expansion - Pharmacy, Warehouse, Department Store, Midtown Grocer, Antique Store
Under Construction The map has been updated to increase the quality, as well as to improve the playing experience. This includes streamlining travel, easier navigation of landmarks, improved graphics and optimization. The map is not fully finished, and during this playtest the following buildings are still under construction:

Animations continue to be a work in progress. While basic movement animations are in, we are aware that some movement animations are either non-existent or do not match the action yet.
Bug Fixes Fixed a bug leading to shops having infinite stock in some cases Fixed an issue with the engine affecting the playback of many sounds The Main Menu will now explain why you are unable to deploy Fixed an issue where players without any items would not generate a corpse. Corpses will now last for at least 5 minutes Fixed an issue with the in game message log not properly displaying messages Fixed using a potion causing a gunshot sound effect to play Fixed a bug causing map screen icons to not properly scale with map zoom.
