From Fantasy Novels to Game Dev

Before I began crafting Leavers Rift, I spent years as a fantasy and drama hobby writer. Worldbuilding, surreal stories, and emotional arcs have always fascinated me. Game development started as a side project - a way to bring my own worlds to life in a more interactive form. What began with small experiments grew into something much larger...

In the blink of an eye, two years had passed.

Leavers Rift: My Debut Project

This is my first game. Art, design, code, writing - nearly every piece comes from me. Of course there are some assets, like some generic rocks. But about 95% is selfmade without any budget or connections.

Why Early Access?

The first Act of Leavers Rift is already fully playable, but it’s built to grow. I want to balance new content around real feedback and improve with the community. Early Access lets me do just that - transparently and step by step.

Sure, some budget for OSTs, more languages or to make a living of it might be helpful. But if there's one thing I’ve learned, it’s how to complete a project even without a budget. Years of writing as a hobbyist taught me that passion and persistence can carry you further than you’d think.

I've forgotten half of what I wanted to say anyway, but the main thing is that you now know a bit better who I am! In today's developer landscape, transparency is more important than ever, with all the AIs, bots, trolls and that part of our industry that we indies distance ourselves from.
