✦ Patch Note — Renaissance d’Orathos

Dear adventurers, With renewed energy, we are officially resuming development of The World of Orathos. This marks a pivotal moment for the project, and we have many important updates to share with you.

🔹 The end of PatchKit: a new era with Steamworks

Our partnership with PatchKit has come to an end. This decision not only helps us reduce costs but, more importantly, allows us to build a stronger and more sustainable foundation for the future of the game.

From now on, all updates and storage will run directly through Steamworks:

• Cloud saves: continue your journey anywhere, on any device (feature planned for a future update).

• Steam Achievements: your in-game accomplishments will now be rewarded through Steam’s official achievement system.

We are also working on releasing a playable demo, giving you the opportunity to experience Orathos before purchasing the full game.

🔹 A narrative overhaul for deeper roleplay

We are rewriting the story from the ground up to deliver a more immersive roleplaying experience and strengthen your bond with the heroes of Orathos.

• All chapters are being rewritten to improve pacing and immersion.

• Existing chapters will be merged into a richer, more cohesive story.

• As of version 2.0, only the Prologue + Chapter 1 (about 15 minutes of gameplay) are currently available.

• A French literature teacher and passionate RPG player (FFXIV, FF7, Golden Sun, etc.) is joining the project to further enrich the narrative.

⚠️ Please note: All current save files will be erased. You will need to restart your adventure, but we promise a far more immersive and professional experience moving forward.

🔹 Important information for USB key players

With the end of PatchKit support and the discontinuation of our USB launchers, we are offering all USB players a free Steam key, valid until the end of 2025.

👉 To claim your key, please contact us by email with the subject: “Key Request” And include:

• A screenshot of your current save

• A photo of your USB key as proof of purchase

From 2026 onward, the USB version will no longer be supported, and you will need to purchase the Steam version of the game. We apologize for the inconvenience, but the project has grown far beyond what the USB format could handle — the game is now twice the size it once was, and this is only the beginning of what we’re preparing for 2026.
