changedNo more sailing aloneThis is the big one you have been asking for, and it was easily our most requested feature. Say hello to Quick Join. Hit the button in the main menu and we find you a game, showing you the host, the region, and your ping. Like the look of it? Hit join and you are in with a crew. Not feeling it? Search again and we will line up another.
changedA rebuilt netcodeUnder the hood, we reworked and stabilized most of the networking. Reconnects, host migration, and session sync caused a lot of the pain in earlier builds, so we rebuilt that layer properly. Expect fewer desyncs and fewer broken states after a reconnect.

Ahoy, pirates!

Time for another round of fixes. Our team is on deck every day, testing the game ourselves and reading your feedback, and this patch is the result of both. Here is what changed.

No more sailing alone

This is the big one you have been asking for, and it was easily our most requested feature. Say hello to Quick Join. Hit the button in the main menu and we find you a game, showing you the host, the region, and your ping. Like the look of it? Hit join and you are in with a crew. Not feeling it? Search again and we will line up another.

A rebuilt netcode

Under the hood, we reworked and stabilized most of the networking. Reconnects, host migration, and session sync caused a lot of the pain in earlier builds, so we rebuilt that layer properly. Expect fewer desyncs and fewer broken states after a reconnect.

Reconnect fixes

  • Knives no longer fail to spawn after a reconnect

  • The stats window now shows up correctly after a reconnect

  • No more getting teleported into the card room on reconnect

  • Weather no longer desyncs after a reconnect

  • Your character's appearance no longer resets after a reconnect

Bug fixes

  • Guillotine no longer duplicates

  • No more grabbing items through walls

  • The bomb that would not activate is working again

  • Overexposed weather is fixed (night and rainbow)

  • Pirate: collisions and shots passing through walls are patched up

  • Enemies no longer stop spawning after host migration

  • Loading screen no longer fades out too early

  • Added localization for the Choose chapter screen

Gameplay tweaks

  • Weapon pickup zone is larger, so grabbing your gear is easier

  • Rats now counter-attack in response to different player actions

  • Rats snatch small items too, not just your coins

  • Smoother transition out of ragdoll

  • Smoother camera transition when coming out of emotes

Quality of life

  • Field of view (FOV) setting, tune it to your taste

  • Invert Y option added

  • Fresh UI animations for the stats window

  • Reworked rum logic

Technical changes

  • Improved Steam Deck support

  • Optimization pass across CPU and networking

The best is yet to come

We are hard at work on the game and packing Early Access full of content. And who knows, this demo will not stay open forever, so there is no better time to jump in. Just wait until you see how much is waiting for you at Early Access!

One more thing: we are going live with an AMA today over on r/pcgaming. Come hang out and ask us anything!

See you on the high seas
