Landscaper Simulator changes
First of all, we want to thank you for the amazing welcome we received after our initial announcement! 🎉 The support means the world to our small father-son dev team 👨👦 and our friends at Code Horizon.
Today, we are thrilled to kick off our very first Development Log! 📝 In these updates, we want to take you behind the scenes and give you a closer look at the mechanics that make up Landscaper Simulator.
Let’s start with the absolute basics, the foundation of any good yard restoration, and your very first best friend in the game: The Grass Cutter. ✂️
🌿 The First Cut is the Deepest (And Most Satisfying!) 😌
When you step into a new level - whether it’s a forgotten suburban backyard or an overgrown city park - the first thing you’ll usually notice is the absolute chaos. Tall grass is everywhere, and stubborn weeds have taken over. 🌾
This is where your trusty grass cutter comes in. We’ve spent a lot of time tweaking this core mechanic because we know it has to feel just right. If you’ve ever found yourself hypnotized by those relaxing lawn-care videos online, we want you to feel that exact same satisfaction when playing.
🌱 Satisfying grass cutting: As you sweep the trimmer side to side, you’ll watch the tall, chaotic grass instantly drop down to a neat, uniform level.
🥀 Weed whacking: Cutting the grass isn’t just about making the lawn look pretty. Trimming down the overgrown weeds clears your line of sight, revealing hidden trash you need to vacuum up and dirty pathways that desperately need a pressure wash.
🌳 Bush trimming: You’ll encounter wild, shapeless bushes that have been neglected for years. Use your grass cutter to carefully trim away the excess branches and make them look perfectly neat and tidy. Watching a messy shrub turn into a clean, sculpted centerpiece is incredibly rewarding.
🧱 Vertical Ivy cut down: Nature loves to reclaim old structures. You'll often find thick, overgrown ivy creeping up walls, fences, and house elevations. Slicing through these stubborn vines not only cleans up the property but also reveals the beautiful architecture and brickwork hidden underneath getting it perfectly prepped for a good pressure wash!Steam post image
🔧 Upgrading Your Arsenal
You won't be stuck with the basic model forever. As you complete jobs and earn money, you'll be able to visit the shop and upgrade your equipment to tackle tougher jobs.
🔄 Wider Cutting Radius: Clear larger patches of grass with a single sweep to save time and energy.
🔋 More Power: Cut through thicker, more stubborn weeds without breaking a sweat.
🚜 What's Next?
Grass cutting is just step one in restoring a messy yard. In our next devlog, we’ll dive into the muddy, grimy, and incredibly rewarding world of Pressure Washing! 💦
Let us know what you think in the comments below! Are there any specific lawn-care tools or upgrade ideas you’d love to see in the game?
