What changed

0 fixes2 additions3 changes0 removals
  • Performance
  • Server
  • UI and audio
changedWe've already received a ton of feedback, both positive and negative. Our key takeaways from the feedback is that in order for LAN Party to reach its full potential, we need to dedicate our time to two major areas: application stability and ease-of-use .
changedPerformance issues and crashes
changedIf you encounter any bugs, details help us out a ton. Bug reports give us good information, but you can also DM me directly on Discord (Ryan) and I can help out in any way I can. Also, if your room gets stuck in a broken state, let me know and I can hop on to the server and fix it for you.
addedI wish a lot of this stuff didn't slip through the cracks before release. Some of it could be due to the new load on the servers, but a lot of it is probably stuff that we missed in our development rush. Our primary goal for this next week will be to eradicate the major bugs people have been running in to. I think we have something with a lot of potential, and its important that we execute on that.
addedAdditionally, we have found that how to do a lot of things in the app can be pretty vague (inviting friends, changing room settings, closing streams, etc). We're going to add some tutorialization to the application, as well as make certain things in our UI more clear in general.

Hi everyone,

Thank you to all 750+ of you that have tried out LAN Party since our launch! We hope you've enjoyed your time with LAN Party thus far and our goal is to keep making it a better and better experience for everyone.

We've already received a ton of feedback, both positive and negative. Our key takeaways from the feedback is that in order for LAN Party to reach its full potential, we need to dedicate our time to two major areas: application stability and ease-of-use.

We've received a lot of reports on bugs that people have encountered, from minor to game-breaking. If you've experienced any major bugs that have stopped you from enjoying LAN Party, we sincerely apologize and we're going to do everything in our power to get them all cleaned up. Some of the major bugs we will be immediately addressing are as follows:

  • Issues with blueprint mode getting interrupted and leaving the room in a broken state

  • Issues with users not receiving streams and/or streams not displaying properly

  • Issues with users not receiving invites at times

  • Performance issues and crashes

  • Issues caused by host migration

  • People getting stuck with "Loading" while entering or editing a room

If you encounter any bugs, details help us out a ton. Bug reports give us good information, but you can also DM me directly on Discord (Ryan) and I can help out in any way I can. Also, if your room gets stuck in a broken state, let me know and I can hop on to the server and fix it for you.

Thank you all again for trying out LAN Party, and we hope you've had fun creating rooms and hanging out with friends! If you have any suggestions that would make LAN Party better or run into any issues, feel free to shoot me a message on Discord. I'm almost always around and happy to chat!
