Thank you for playing Kumitantei: Old-School Slaughter! An update has been released, fixing and adjusting multiple aspects of the game.
Patch Notes
Added the ability to fast forward through dialogue, mapped to Control and Right Bumper by default
The censor from the Sensitive Language Filter option has been slightly adjusted
Tutorial popups now prevent advancing for a brief amount of time to avoid situations where important information is accidentally skipped through mashing
Following spending time with a character during Free Time, Himari is now transported to her dorm
During Merlite and Cosmidors in the Clinical Trial, it is now possible to re-read the tutorial by pressing F1
Removed fall damage in the Clinical Trial version of Merlite
The redundant lives counter in the Clinical Trial version of Cosmidors is now hidden
Increased the movement speed in Cosmidors by 20%
During Card Battle Debates, the opponent's dialogue can no longer be interrupted by another line of dialogue
Fixed an issue where entries in the Message Log would not update automatically when switching language in the middle of dialogue
Fixed an issue in the Card Battle tutorial in the Prologue where a confirm input would occasionally double and play a card too early during the sequence or an Evidence Card could be played instead, resulting in a softlock
Fixed an issue in the Kitty Catcher where the chance of missing a selected tile was lower than intended
Fixed an issue where Shigure lost two Trust levels when given a Chicken Bucket instead of gaining two
Fixed several issues where the note in the pause menu did not update when needing to return to Himari's Dorm
Fixed an issue where dialogue blips from the "No Voices" setting would play during dialogue in a Card Battle despite the setting not being set
Fixed an issue in Cosmidors where taking damage resulted in a permanent softlock
Fixed an issue in Cosmidors where enemies would occasionally spawn without a letter
Fixed several issues in Cosmidors and Merlite where sound effects did not play correctly
Fixed an issue during the Closing Argument puzzle where mouse input took priority over directional inputs, resulting in behavior where changing selection would not work as expected
Fixed an issue where the Closing Argument UI would break when running out of time, allowing dialogue to be advanced while solving the puzzle
Many gameplay adjustments have been made to the Card Battle Boss Phase
Greatly reduced the amount of time the segment goes on for
Increased hand size during this segment from 5 to 7
The opponent now displays their Active Card and changes it at the start of each of their turns
Combos must be started and continued with the same rules as the normal phase: playing a card whose Suit beats the opponent's, or by matching the number of your previously played Debate Card. Continuing a Combo can only be done by matching the Suit of your previously played Debate Card
