changedThis is a small patch that fixes some important bugs around tournament saves that weren’t worth holding 0.8 for, and sneaks in some other minor fixes. We’ve also made an adjustment to how rank is affected at the end of a season. We’ve not spoken much about how rank works, and don’t explain the calculations in-game, so let’s clarify how that system works briefly. As you play you will notice your portrait in the bottom left of the screen has two numbers on it. The upper number is your XP rank. You gain 1 XP for each battle you win, and level up as follows:
addedLevels 11+: every 50 Points The lower number is your Season Rank. Currently, we move to a new season approximately every six weeks, or when we add new items to the game. When we move to a new season, a player’s rank will drop by 2. If you were rank 5 at the end of a season, you will start the next season at rank 3.
changedWe have updated the amount of rank lost at the end of the season:
addedRank is important, as it allows us to ensure that the opponents you meet are at least close to your skill level, which keeps the games interesting. To calculate the amount of rank points gained or lost after a game, subtract your lives lost from your wins, and multiply that number by 5. Add another 10 if you won the game and got all 10 medals. If the result is a negative number, a further modifier is used to decrease the amount lost. This modifier is stronger at lower ranks:
removedThis makes it easier to climb until you reach Rank 9. Once you reach Rank 11, you no longer gain Season ranks, though you do continue to accumulate rank points. This determines your position on the leaderboard among other rank 11 players. Hi Xenomorph! And with that, we’ll return to working on the single player campaign, which we hope to make playable in the near future. Thanks for playing!

Levels 1-5: every 30 Points

Levels 6-10: every 40 Points

Levels 11+: every 50 Points The lower number is your Season Rank. Currently, we move to a new season approximately every six weeks, or when we add new items to the game. When we move to a new season, a player’s rank will drop by 2. If you were rank 5 at the end of a season, you will start the next season at rank 3.

We have updated the amount of rank lost at the end of the season:

Ranks 1 and 2 will lose no rank, Ranks 3 and 4 will lose 1 rank, and Ranks 5 and above will continue to lose 2 ranks.

Rank is important, as it allows us to ensure that the opponents you meet are at least close to your skill level, which keeps the games interesting.

Rank 1 - lose 20% of the value (-5 becomes -1)

Rank 2 - 30%

Rank 3 - 40%

Rank 4 - 50%

Rank 5 - 60%

Rank 6 - 70%

Rank 7 - 80%

Rank 8 - 90%

This makes it easier to climb until you reach Rank 9.
