Koihime Enbu: v1.06 (beta) Network fixes

We have another, open beta for anyone interested in trying it out. The fixes are many this time, but the net result is that the online game has been much improved, particularly in relation to rooms and spectating.

fixedWe have another, open beta for anyone interested in trying it out. The fixes are many this time, but the net result is that the online game has been much improved, particularly in relation to rooms and spectating. The following issues with online room stability were addressed:
changedRoom StabilityAn issue where the game would sometimes get stuck after a session error occured

Room Stability

  • An issue where the game would sometimes get stuck after a session error occured

  • An issue where the game would get stuck following a connection error before starting an online match

  • An issue where a loss of p2p connection resulting in the room's owner being kicked would result in everyone else being kicked too

  • Issues where spectators losing their connection was affecting players (now the spectator will be kicked)

  • Limited the amount of time (10 seconds) the game would wait for spectators to sync up with the match

  • An issue where one spectator timing out would cause others to time out too

  • Fixed the amount of time a room would wait for a spectator to sync before kicking them (30 seconds)

  • And improved connection stability overall

Bug Fixes

  • An issue where a battle would start before results were updated

  • Changed behaviour to give a connection error when the game fails to update ranking information at the results screen

Functionality, Changes in Mechanics

  • Changed Player Match room search function to retry after 90 seconds if no room is found.

  • Changed Ranked Match search function to continue searching if entering the room fails

  • Changed Quick Match search function to search using the most lenient conditions

  • Improved search functionality for the Steam version in relation to full rooms

  • Changed the ranking experience table so higher levels lose less experience when losing match

You can try the open beta as follows:

  1. In Steam Library, right click on Koihime Enbu in your game list

  2. Open the "Properties" menu and navigate to the "Betas" tab

  3. From the dropdown choose the "open_beta" beta

  4. Closing the properties menu, Steam should update your game

  5. After update it will show up as "Koihime Enbu [open_beta]"

Hopefully there should be no problems, but please report any issue you find in the open_beta report thread .
