Before performing, I focused on how to portray the gap between his true feelings and his facade. Licht maintains social composure outwardly while internally thinking and acting differently.

Actually performing it, I found it both challenging and enjoyable to navigate how much of his emotions to reveal to others, and to keep up with his shifting feelings—especially his desires and conflicts visible in various scenes, alongside the contrast with his usual self.

Particularly when Licht's dark impulses came to the forefront, I felt an overwhelming sense that I truly had become Licht.

So what exactly is this dark impulse? What motivates Licht to belong to the Knights?

シャッテンは、正義感の強い子で憎たらしくなるほど愛せる存在だと思っています。

かっこいいし頼りになる。しかしながら年相応の表情も持ち合わせています。そのギャップもまたかわいい。

前日譚ではリヒトとシャッテンが色んな意味でイチャイチャします。シャッテンの表情がコロコロ変わるのを見ていると、「本当にこの子かわいいな…」と思いますね。演じている際も、例えばこういう言い方をしたらどんな反応するのだろう？などとシャッテンがどのような表情になるかを楽しみながら演じました。実力者たるゆえ、無茶もしがちですがそれもまた愛しい。もう、かわいいしか出てこないですね。もっと虐げてみたいです。

I think Schatten is a kid with a strong sense of justice—someone you can love so much it's almost infuriating.

He's cool and dependable. Yet he also has expressions that match his age. That gap is adorable too.

In the prequel, Licht and Schatten flirt in all sorts of ways. Watching Schatten's expressions change constantly makes me think, “This kid is seriously adorable...” When acting, I enjoyed imagining what kind of reaction he'd have to certain lines, like “What expression would he make if I said this?” Because he's so capable, he tends to push boundaries, but that's endearing too. Honestly, “adorable” is the only word that comes to mind. I want to torment him even more.
