Hey everyone👋,

Today, you're coming with us to a festival. And not just any festival.

The Japanese Matsuri Festival! 🎊

Everyone is invited, and all are welcome. So pack your bags – you’re in for a celebration like you’ve never experienced before! 🏮

But before we get there, four special stops await us. 🌸 At each one, you’ll learn a little more about the celebration that lies ahead – and the world of Kimono Cats that makes it all possible.

As our festival journey begins, let us take you back to where it all started: the very first spark of the idea that shaped the world of Kimono Cats. 👘🐱

So take a seat (and don’t get your kimono dusty 👘) – it’s story time.

The idea for the game came from a pure need of the heart of its developer Greg Johnson, in the face of hard pandemic times. Surrounded by constant anxiety and isolated from the world, he began working on an idea for a game full of warmth and positive relationships. There, both he and his wife, as well as many other players, could find a personal sanctuary of peace in unpredictable lockdown times. 🌈☀️

This is how Kimono Cats was brought to life. The decision regarding the world and its characters came easily to Greg. As the owner of two cats 🐈🐈‍⬛, fluent in Japanese, he set the feline characters on a date during the Matsuri festival a magical place he could fill with many mini-games and cultural references.

Kimono Cats was originally developed as a mobile game and at the time the market was flooded with games whose core was about revenge, destruction, and retaliation."Without revenge, there is no game; it's what turns players on and keeps them coming back." investors said.

As you can guess Greg didn't listen to the investors. He believed in the value of his project, and very rightly so. Because of him, we can be on this journey today. 😻🌸

And now we're moving on, because the next stop is coming soon! 🍡🪭
