What I've been working on

Last month I ran a playtest for a very small group of players to get an early read on how the game was playing. Testers ran through the game's tutorial and were able to play a very basic exhibition game against the AI. Feedback was positive and led to a lot of conversations about serve & spike timing and what the difficulty for new players should be. Most players felt that once they got comfortable with the game's controls the game started to feel really fun, which is exciting for me to hear!

As you know, there aren't a ton of 6v6 volleyball games that players have trained years of muscle memory from, so I'm essentially starting from scratch with everyone who plays this game. The onramp for that process will be the tutorial, which is a series of (hopefully) fun activities to introduce the game's basic mechanics. You'll knock over water bottles, smash targets, and drop perfect passes into the ball cart while learning the ins and outs of the controls.

What's up next

With gameplay in a decent spot I'm turning my attention to player and team customization. I recently got the female player back working in the game again, unfortunately I don't have proper uniforms yet so she's wearing the men's ones right now.

I'm just now getting started on player creation tools which you'll be able to use to make your own custom players and teams. I'll be using them too to build out the default leagues for the game. Expect to see that progress in a future update!
