Kill The Music changes
HOLD ATTACKS, DOUBLE BEAT ATTACKS AND NEW UPGRADES!
We’ve added Hold Attacks, a new default mechanic that will make balancing Rhythm and Combat easier. Players are able to “spend” their combo counter by holding the Beat Input to automatically hit the beat. This allows the player to focus on Rhythm as they build up their combo and then focus on the Combat once their combo counter is high enough.
We’ve added new upgrade “triggers” to vary up our existing upgrades. This modifies the way upgrades synergize and interact with each other.
Max HP: upgrade will only trigger or be active at Max HP
Low HP: upgrade will only trigger or be active at Max HP
Combo: upgrade will only trigger or be active at a certain Combo Count (+10 to +50)
Solo: upgrade will only trigger or be active during Solo
Hold: upgrade will only trigger or be active when player is utilizing Hold Attacks
We’ve added several new upgrades and upgrade types to fill out
- Double Beat Hit Upgradesa new input type that requires the player to press Beat Hit in quick succession, varying up their rhythm and triggering the upgrade
Mark Upgrades: certain attacks will now “mark” enemies, meaning they will take extra damage on the next instance of damage (the damage will remove the mark though)
Mark Effect Upgrades: marked enemies will experience negative effects like poison, stun or emit attacks hurting other enemies
Revive Upgrades: the player can now be revived (once per round) if the player dies while conditions are met (solo revive and combo revive)
- Curse Disable Upgradescurses can now be disabled if the upgrades conditions are triggered (solo curse disable and combo curse disable)
New Heal Upgrades: healing that trigger based on movement (standing heal and moving heal)
New Damage Type Upgrades: separated Damage Types into Hit, Shockwave, Projectile and Burst.
We’ve expanded Unlocks in tandem with the new upgrade “triggers” since each powerful upgrade was split into multiple varieties.
We also added Unlock “Pop Ups” in the results screen so players can track their progress easier.
We’ve set upgrades to all show “effect messages” at the right side of the screen for clarity on when they’re active.
We’ve also reset demo progress because of all the recent major changes.
Known Issues:
Exclamation Point icon on Unlock (in the main menu) will sometimes not go away even if all available unlocks are activated.
If you solo during boss white flash the screen will stay white during the duration of the solo activation
Some Upgrades are not correctly triggering “effect messages” at the right side of the screen
Max HP Stat Up (ATK/DEF/SPEED) will sometimes not trigger initially until player gets hurt and then heals back to Max HP
Burst from Drum Instrument’s default attack does not mark (if burst mark is active) and does not increase from burst damage upgrades.
We hope to see you on Release Day!
