Kardiya: The Winds of Fate changes
Hello homins and bakters of Gaia!
At the beginning of this month, we rebranded the game and brought it to a much better place. And now, we are rolling up our sleeves to start producing content on Patreon again.
First, let me reintroduce the game.
Kardiya is now a dice building rogue lite RPG. At the center of the story is Ukral. He is the son of a noble father, but his mother belongs to a lower caste, which makes him a target of hatred in Kardiya, especially from Sungur Khan. On top of that, Ukral becomes the new bearer of the legendary Digoksin dice. Because of this, his uncle Sungur Khan has both his parents killed. Ukral narrowly escapes death and, at the age of 12, abandons his noble life to flee into the wilds of Kardiya.
Rogue-lite elements
At first, the story feels like a classic revenge journey. A murdered family, escape, survival. Up to that point, everything follows an epic narrative. But then, everything changes.
Ukral dies.
And that is where the game truly begins.
After his death, because of the power of the dice, Ukral falls into the Araf. And meet Kader in there. Then he realizes that he can change his fate and rewrite the past. What we play is Ukral in Araf, trying different paths over and over again. There is no single “good ending.” Every run is a different version of fate. Ukral searches for the one path that can save himself, his family, and Kardiya. This is where the rogue lite structure comes into play.
Inspired by FATE RPG
For the RPG systems, we took inspiration from FATE RPG. Fudge dice, aspect-based mechanics, and the idea that a bad roll does not always mean a bad outcome are all part of Kardiya.
At the same time, we have started creating exclusive content for our Patreon. We will be sharing short stories from our Gaia universe, which we have been building for the past four years, as eBooks. It may not be entirely unique in the world, but for us, it is a very special experience, and we hope you will enjoy it.
We are also planning an upcoming alpha playtest for Kardiya. If you want to participate, you can join our mailing list through inevgames.com or send us an email directly at community@inevgames.com
A great year is ahead of us. Take care and see you soon!
