Big patch. Will likely break saves and have bugs - apologies, but it's worth it. Check THIS out!

-0.4- "The Sound of Progress"

Music & Sounds

  • composed some songs for morning/afternoon/evening (1 song, different arrangements). will improve these over time.

  • upgradable street band that plays the appropriate song

  • NPCs who own instruments will join in

  • you can use an instrument yourself to play in sync, or control it with your midi controller!

  • radio object which plays the same output as the band

  • footstep sounds (creative commons 0 for now)

  • sounds for grabbing/placing stuff (self-made)

Staff

  • three types of staff: porter, cashier, crafter.

  • porters carry stuff around - delivery depot to shelves, shelf to shelf, shelf to crafting station, crafting station output to sales, etc.

  • cashiers slowly pick up coins off their assigned desk

  • crafters will slowly perform the inputs needed to craft whatever recipe is set at their assigned station

  • you place a Locker in build mode for each employee you want, then fill it with cash and use the Staff menu in the ledger (tab menu).

  • they'll stop working once their locker doesn't have enough cash to cover their wages. they have different speeds which affect their wage.

  • this is still a basic implementation. let me know how it goes

Items

  • armour pieces in every slot for cloth/leather/metal

  • added new jobs, mostly focusing on nighttime (nightwatch, gravedigger, etc)

  • rebalanced npc jobs and need requirements (not everything needs 5 now)

  • general rebalance of npc needs / price formulas, mostly focused on food. got rid of "repair" tool subcategory, merged its items into building/crafting

  • shuffled wholesale stocks around; each vendor has a few categories, and all unlockables of those types end up with them. renamed some vendors

  • improved wandering vendor stock generation. he should always have interesting stuff now

  • added a well in town from which you can grab water bottles for free

Settings

  • you can now access settings from the escape menu

  • adjusted graphics presets

Misc

  • running speeds up your walk animation

  • various optimisation / npc ai improvements

-items now fly onto / from the shelf rather than instantly appearing on the shelf / in your hand
