addedHi everybody! In the past weeks we've mostly been working on redesigning existing 3D objects and adding new ones to make the game more appealing. Throughout the past year we have gotten better at 3D modelling and while one must just say 'this is good enough' at some point, we decided we were not there yet.
changedTrees redesignTrees are quite important in our game - it's called 'Isle of trees' for a reason. That is why we decided to make them from scratch as well. Currently they just seem too flat and we were way to careful regarding the polycount. Premature optimization is the root of all evil.
addedNew foliageMostly forest areas are lacking some details and feel a bit empty. That is why we are working on new foliage to make the world lusher. We've also decided to add some grass, but just as a detail around other objects - having huge fields of swaying grass did not seem to fit our art stile and would have an impact on performance as well.

Main character redesign
The original Chirpy was probably the first object that we created in Blender (can you tell?). As it is the main character of our game it definitely needed a facelift. We are quite close to the finish line regarding the mesh and will start to work on the animations and coloring in the next weeks.
Trees redesign
Trees are quite important in our game - it's called 'Isle of trees' for a reason. That is why we decided to make them from scratch as well. Currently they just seem too flat and we were way to careful regarding the polycount. Premature optimization is the root of all evil.
