Iron Legacy changes
Hi guys :) Thank you for your feedback :) We were already able to fix some minor bugs
Btw, I did receive the request for renaming character ... and as I am dumb enough to do most of the things you want ... I rolled up my sleeves and went to work on it... I was intentionally avoiding this feature as I knew this would be a pretty dirty job ... and everything can get horribly wrong in no time as I needed to change the character identification from name (I know .. who would use name as a unique identifier? right? ... :D) to a unique ID... I did it in the end, but I lost some of my saves. Fortunately. I did a backup and restored it, and work on it once more I caught most of the nasty bugs that were everywhere ... the AI told me literally this: "This is catastrophic..." when I prompted it to check the saves as I was smelling something fishy there .... so "This is fine gif" was pretty much the vibe of my day :D
But most of the things should be solved in the live build on the default branch :) try it and be merciful if you find anything not working :D. You can report it on our discord :) https://discord.gg/erCaExNd
New requested features
Edit character name! (This brought up a catastrophic number of bugs, I think all of them are fixed now, but... read in the known issues :D)
Unique items can now be upgraded at the Blacksmith up to +15 - Unique items now feature dynamic tier-scaling:
- +9 upgrade reaches 90% power of the next tier
- +10 upgrade jumps to 100% power of the next tier
+11 to +14 upgrades scale from 120% to 180% of the next tier - +15 upgrade reaches 100% power of the tier after next (Tier X+2)
Warrior: +134 starting HP bonus (200% of L1 base; VIT scaling unchanged)
Known issues
Introduced new bug :D When you have autocast on and cast some buff spell in multiplayer, the spell is now autocasted to your party - consider this as an intentional feature :D
It can happen that you will find a duplicated save file in your characters - in that case, compare the characters on the character select screen with each other, choose the "newer save" based on the higher lvl or rebirths, delete the older one and then rename the newer one to the correct name. This should be just a one-time fix, and it should not repeat again.
Fixed bugs
Mage: Fixed a bug where the first autocast spell would be the previously cast manual spell instead of the selected autocast spell (priority queue now cleared when enabling autocast via T key, right-click, or settings).
MP arena: player who starts arena now correctly loses gold and essence (server RPCs client to apply cost deduction locally)
- Character savesfixed duplicate/historical characters appearing on character select after UUID migration (cross-PC Steam Cloud sync now uses name-based deterministic UUIDs and skips re-migration if UUID save already exists)
- Character savesfixed saving under the wrong filename — save functions now always use character UUID (not display name) so the correct file is updated and no stale/nameless copies are created
- Character savesfixed empty character_name being saved when player.character_name was blank (now falls back to current_character_name)
- Character savesadded startup cleanup that deletes all duplicate UUID saves per character (keeps the newest), eliminating hundreds of stale copies from previous buggy migrations
Rebirth: Quest progress and active quests are now reset upon rebirth (prevents "hoarding" rewards for instant levelling)
