Update v0.3.0: The Hazard & Atmosphere Overhaul
Scavengers, the void just got a lot more hostile. We’ve implemented a massive new Hazard System that scales with a ship's decay. Exploring a derelict is no longer just about avoiding monsters—it’s about surviving the ship itself.
💨 Toxic Gas & Explosive Vents
Damaged vents can now leak toxic gas when the ship's power is restored.
Visual Interference: Gas clouds severely limit standard drone visibility.
Sonar Glitch: Your sonar won't save you here—gas generates thick "green noise" interference, obscuring geometry.
Hazardous Combo: Gas is highly flammable. A single spark, electrical short, or stray bullet can turn a toxic room into a lethal explosion.
🌬️ Dynamic Decompression
Structural integrity is now a constant concern.
Airlock Failures: Airlocks (especially those damaged by docking) can now fail and blow open mid-mission.
Vacuum Chain Reaction: Once a room is depressurized, it puts immense strain on internal doors. Seal the ship quickly, or watch the vacuum consume the entire deck.
Warning Signs: Keep your ears open for structural groans and watch for HUD pressure alerts before a room blows.
☢️ Radiation Surges
The heart of the ship is its most dangerous part.
Generator Meltdown: Failing generators can now leak radiation that spreads dynamically through the ship.
Signal Corruption: Radiation directly affects your drone feed, causing static and visual noise that makes remote control much harder.
⚡ Power Risks & "Living Ship" Effects
Turning the power on is now a high-stakes gamble.
Power-On Surges: Restoring electricity can trigger immediate shorts, fires, or even turn defense turrets hostile.
Blackout Scrambles: Random power flickers will occasionally cut your video feed for several seconds—be ready for anything when the screens come back on.
Atmospheric Polish: High-decay ships now feature tremors, falling ceiling plaster, sirens, and pulsing red alert lighting when the ship is in critical state.
🛠️ Ship Generation & Optimization
- Better LayoutsWe’ve adjusted the room generator to create more interconnected ships with better movement options.
Performance Boost: Optimized the ElectronicDestruction system. No more freezing or stuttering during large explosions!
Weapon Racks: Further refined loot tables and interaction logic for weapon racks.
