We're introducing several new updates to both Oceanside and the Checkpoint beta maps. Your feedback continues to improve Intruder, and we're eager to hear what you think. We've also got Mapmaker improvements and...are we forgetting anything?
Oh, yeah -- the Intruder arsenal is also receiving another all-new experimental gadget.
To allow even more agents to test this new technology, Intruder will be on sale until April 8th for 50% off and with 200% xp
A new tactical gadget
Not silent and not deadly, the new tactical proximity mine (Designation: Whoopee Cushion) is primed for both the practical and tactical.
The Whoopee Cushion is deployable device. When stepped on or shot by a player, it emits a noxious gas cloud that instantly KOs anyone in the area. Watch your step and where you sit -- collapsing to the ground leaves you vulnerable to arrests or easy headshots! Here's hoping you wake up faster than you fell down.
This gadget can be enabled on servers by ticking the "Experimental Items" checkbox. Afterwards every player will spawn with three within their inventory.
On official missions, this experimental gadget will only be available for the duration of this 7 day sale. Community map makers may add it to any of their maps as they wish however.
Oceanside & Checkpoint Updates
In case you missed it, last month we released the latest official Intruder map in beta: Checkpoint. Thanks to the community's testing, through many tense and rigorous matches, we've been heads-down making the map even better.
Along with some typical bug fixes and minor tweaks, the Sentry Gun's rotation now resets on round-end and has a much wider and less obscured FOV. Sentries stand ready and better than ever to dutifully monitor the front door -- and potentially mulch any Guard who goes near.
Checkpoint isn't the only map we're improving this April. Layout updates to Oceanside will forever alter the way you intruder or guard the beachfront property. Here's what's new with the renovations:
On approach to the house, a wooden gate stands near the passageway beneath the bathroom. This allows players to optionally block the sightline down the stairs and even set up rigs for those wanting to stealthily pass through late into the round. Be careful opening that gate -- no matter what team you're on!
Nearby, a new fence also keeps the beach side safer from Intruders, while preventing cheeky peeks from eager Guards rushing from the rear patio. This fence is positioned right next to the outside vent entrance and makes the beach side approach a lot safer to traverse.
We've added a new cliff to climb and a new zipline to ride over the bay near Intruder spawn, granting new ways to maneuver toward the objective (or get shot into the water). This new location provides a strong vantage point on the house and the edge of the beach.
Should you find yourself at the 2nd floor's back door, you'll also notice the glass door has been replaced by something a little more solid. This will make defending the top floor a little easier and safer.
Now for the final change we wanted to touch on -- we brought in our best arborist to perform some tree surgery and make a few changes to the surrounding foliage! You'll find some new trees planted across the map to give a little move cover in some locations and a little less in others.
There's a few more changes to
