Infliction changes
Hi horror fans, I’m hard at work putting the finishing touches on my debut title Infliction, and I’m excited to have release date news coming soon! To celebrate, I wanted to take a behind-the-scenes look at some character animations we have been polishing and new screenshots. Infliction is built using Unreal Engine 4, and my animator uses a 3D software package to produce creepy character movements. I’ve worked hard to add lots of atmosphere through dynamic lighting, detailed environments, haunting sound effects, and frightening interactions between the player and the ghost.
Here’s part of the animation when it’s first being worked on - placeholder textures, no lighting or environment. It’s important to get the movement right at this stage, so that it ‘works’ even without the context of the rest of the game. My animator spends a lot of time at this stage to get this feeling right.
Once I’m confident about the animation, we implement it. Now we can check it out with textures, lighting and the environment - and playtest with this animation factored in. Our playtesters have been loving this in-game - when you play Infliction, this may be one of the ways you meet your end! Here are some other screenshot examples of scenes I have been polishing. There may be some details that others would miss, let me know if you notice anything mysterious. ;)
Thank you for your continued support. -Clinton
