Infiniterra changes
After almost exactly a year of work since the very first initial releases on IndieDB, the first early demo for Infiniterra is finally live on Steam! Just head over to the store page and hit "Download Demo" to jump right in.
What’s inside the Demo?
The demo features a pre-generated, limited-volume world designed to give you a solid impression of the engine's tech, performance, and overall vibe.
- Explore & BuildYou can walk, fly around, and place or break all available voxels.
Get Guided: I’ve placed a few short guides and labels around the world for you to discover.
Note: Biomes and the full creative menu selection are still in development and will follow in future updates, but there is plenty here to get a feel for the game!
Tech & Steam Features Highlight
In preparation for this release, a ton of behind-the-scenes work went into optimization:
Custom Voxel Stream: I implemented a custom saving/loading solution just for Infiniterra. Testing shows -25% saving time, -66% loading time, and a massive -50% reduction in save file size, compared to the solutions that were already there!
Steam Cloud Support: The full version of the game will start with 2 GB of cloud save space. It’s fully opt-in per world, highly optimized, and your demo saves will carry over to the full game. However, there may be breaking updates until we get to the full version release (will be announced in advance). The demo also features full Steam Cloud support!
Steam Statistics: Basic tracking is now live (Worlds Created, Time Played, Distance Traveled, Blocks Placed/Mined). Will be expanded in the as the game grows.
- Audio OverhaulCompletely swapped out the in-game music and updated old sound effects (like footsteps) for a much more streamlined experience.
And so much more... If you're interested in the updates, head over to the IndieDB Dev Blog: https://www.indiedb.com/games/infiniterra/articles
What’s Next?
This week is all about monitoring your feedback and pushing quick bug fixes. It’s my crucial testing week because on June 15th, Infiniterra is officially joining Steam Next Fest June 2026! After the fest, the next major milestone will be finalizing the default biome generation.
I Need Your Feedback!
This is a huge opportunity for me to work closer with the community. Please let me know what you think by filling out the Google Form (link below, or accessible directly from the game's main menu):

If you want to support the journey, please consider Wishlisting Infiniterra here on Steam. It is by far the most important metric to help the game get seen. Now with the demo out, I will be posting regular updates here on Steam as well!
Thank you all so much, and have fun exploring!
Cheers!
