INANIMA changes
Hello everyone!
It has been a while since our last update, and today we want to share with you some of the changes and improvements we have been working on over the past few months.
We are still making progress on INANIMA, and a big part of this time has been dedicated to reviewing, improving, and polishing different game systems to make the final experience as solid as possible.
Let's start with some of the most important new features.
A new map system
One of the changes we are most excited about is the new map system. We have moved away from the previous version because we felt it did not reward exploration as much as we wanted.
Now, as you explore the SPIRA facilities, the rooms you visit will be gradually recorded, helping you keep track of your path.
However, if you find the map of an area, you will instantly unlock its full structure, revealing the complete layout and giving you a much clearer understanding of your surroundings.
We believe this system makes finding a map much more rewarding while keeping the feeling of exploring an unknown place intact.
A more flexible inventory
INANIMA features two types of inventory: a limited one, where you will manage weapons and ammunition, and an unlimited one dedicated to important items and crafting materials.
This way, we want to avoid frustrating situations where you have to leave behind an item needed to progress simply because you do not have enough space.
For the limited inventory, we have added an upgrade system. While exploring, you will be able to find special items that increase your capacity, allowing you to carry more weapons and resources.
We want these upgrades to feel like a reward for exploration and to provide that sense of progression as you move deeper into the SPIRA facilities.
Improving the crafting system
We have worked on improving the crafting system, adding new items and recipes to make resource crafting a more important part of the experience.
Now, finding a note explaining how to create a new item will automatically unlock that recipe in the crafting menu.
However, if you are the type of player who likes experimenting, you will also be able to discover new combinations on your own.
We want crafting to reward both exploration and experimentation, giving players more ways to survive and discover new possibilities within the SPIRA facilities.
A new area to discover
We felt that the demo was not complete without showing a darker and more disturbing side of INANIMA. That is why we have added a new area to explore, along with two new enemies that will test your resources and your ability to adapt.
Prepare yourself to venture deeper into the SPIRA facilities. A place where darkness hides new dangers, and where the other side awaits.
About the closed beta
The road to the closed beta has been a very revealing experience for us. We wanted the version reaching players to be as close as possible to the final INANIMA experience.
During internal testing, before giving access to everyone who signed up to participate as beta testers, we discovered that some aspects of the game were not working as well as we wanted. Because of this, we decided to spend more time improving and polishing them before opening the beta.
This is the main reason why we have not been able to give access to the beta yet. Our plan was to have started testing a few months ago, and we are truly sorry for the wait, but we believe it was the right decision. Thanks to this extra time, we are much happier with the version we are going to deliver.
We also want to thank everyone who has shown interest in taking part in the closed beta. We truly appreciate your patience and support.
Soon, we will start giving beta access to small groups of players. Afterwards, little by little, we will invite more people to try this version and help us with their feedback before launch.
Thank you for continuing to support us on this journey!
