I’m the solo developer of I WAS A KING. In order to increase quality of the game, I've decided to change release schedule. In March 2, 2026, Our Playtest goes live. This public test is focused on collecting real player feedback so we can iterate quickly and ship better updates based on what you experience.

How to join

· Visit the Steam store page and click Request Access for the Playtest.

· Once approved, you can install and launch the Playtest from your Library.

What we’re testing

· The core loop: two petitions per day, you type a decree, then face the fallout.

· How tone and court interpretation affect the narrative and consequences.

· Readability and pacing (anything that feels confusing or “static”

How to send feedback

· Please share what you loved, what felt unclear, and what felt frustrating — via comments or the feedback form (linked in the announcement).

· Key questions: “Do you understand the game in the first 10 seconds?” and “Do the consequences feel dramatic enough?”

Update plan

· We’ll prioritize UX, pacing, and presentation updates based on Playtest feedback and iterate in focused patches.

· Major changes will be shared via Steam announcements, and improved builds will be deployed continuously.
