Commander Upgrades / New Commanders
Attention all deck commanders! The version 1.2 (Promoted) content update is here, just in time for the Steam Deckbuilder Fest. This update focuses on extending and reworking commander cards. Most noticeably, Commanders can now be upgraded and differentiated by acquiring new commander-only upgrade dongles that you can find at fixed points during a run.
In addition to that, you can now also acquire powerful secondary commanders at later stages.
Steam post imageThere are 3 new secondary commanders per faction and they get unlocked once you have access to all starting deck components of said faction. So depending on how far you have progressed they might immediately unlock when entering the title screen.
Commander Reworks
Many starting commanders also got a bit of a rework based on community feedback.
Steam post imagePlate-Investor now profits from a vastly improved Heavy Armor keyword that can fully negate incoming damage and also affects other sources of physical damage like small craft and mines. This comes with stronger downsides when taking command, but some of these can be mitigated through commander upgrades.
Steam post imageShiv-God got her original effect replaced with a new AM Ambush keyword that allows to debuff a lot enemies with antimatter and only requires deploying her in time.
Steam post imageWing-Scout now has another way of amplifying small-craft damage, using a reworked version of the AM Tracking Dart tech card. This effect can also be found on some other Floatoid cards now.
Most effect power increasing effects in the Floatoid Deck have been replaced with a new Launch Rate keyword that only affects small craft applications, but also benefits created cards (works great for carriers).
Other Additions
On top of that the update also adds a bunch of new fleet upgrades (some with new unlock conditions) and a few general card upgrade dongles. The baseline upgrade system has been extended to cover all temporary cards and even megaships, with rare new ways to add baseline upgrades to these types of cards. There is a couple new tech cards too.
As with my other games and previous updates, 1.2 is a free addition to the game. Hyperspace Deck Command will also be 20% off for the duration of the Deckbuilder Fest, its deepest discount so far. The free demo will also receive the new content.
Commanders on Deck Bundle
For the Steam Deck Builder Fest I have also bundled up with Command Deck, a slick looking sci-fi deck builder in early access that just got updated to version 0.5. Of course we had to call this the Commanders on Deck Bundle. This is a “complete the set” offer, so if you already own one game, you’ll still get the discount on the other.

Changes / Balancing

-Heavy Armor can now reduce incoming damage to 0 and also affects damage from mines, fighters and bomber stacks.
-Plate-Investor now lowers drive power by 1 instead of adding stubborn and creates Dissent on play instead of on discard.
-Plate-Investor got his second Fleet Polarizer back.
-AM Tracking Dart now applies 1 AM and a new effect that specifically increases damage taken from small craft stacks.
-Replaced effect power bonuses in Floatoid Deck with new Launch Rate keyword that specifically modifies small craft effects.
-Data-World now also lowers redraw delay when deployed.
-Death-Glimmer now inflicts 3 EMP when deployed.
-Increased faction flagship base stat differentiation.
-Hull Reforger no longer has a damage component and has target suffers 4 damage instead.
-Size 2 slow drive ships generally have more hull now.
-Container Ship and Swarm Carrier now have artillery.
-Solidarity is now size 2.
-H-Booster Pack is no longer applicable to commander cards (there are other ways to give commanders high readiness now).
-Unshielded Reactor is now -2 timer, suffer 1 dmg, suffer 2 rad.
-Burnout Drive now has +Fire Suppression.
-Targeting HI 10x now has -1 damage.
-A few enemies in encounter 4-6 now have more hp.
-A few enemies in encounter 7-9 now have more hp and damage.
-Compromised End-Tech fleet now has a small chance to deploy support units from other ET encounters.
-Last enemy of the final encounter now has Gateway.
-Improved cam tracking on tech cards with multi action.

-Fixed missing baselines on new cards.
-Fixed a problem with crit visuals on units.
-Fixed some loot pool problems when loading a run.
-Fixed Cargo elevator not applying fast deploy to the cargo it creates.
-Fixed self attacks triggering mines.
-Fixed some problems with self attack.
-Fixed boarded attacks not interacting correctly with final bonus action.
-Fixed some units that act in irregular ways not triggering intercept mines.
-Fixed Weapon Factory being able to target itself and megaship.
-Fixed a problem preventing attack comms from playing.
-Fixed damage per enemy on orbit calculating incorrectly while boarded (now fully considers former allies as enemies).
