It's been awhile since our last update, but that's not because we haven't been doing anything. For the last few months we've been working on a major update to the game bringing us towards a 1.0 release.
Over the next few weeks we'll finishing some optimization, bug fixes and putting some polish on some maps and features. This update is to give you an idea of some of the things we have coming.
VR
One of the biggest things included in this update is VR support. Any HMD should work, we've tested it on both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Controller wise though you'll need either the oculus touch controllers, the newer valve index controllers or a gamepad. The vive wands just weren't built for this kind of game. You can attempt to use them if you want, but we won't be supporting that control scheme.
In VR you get a first person view of your drone and the controls will mimic the current gamepad controls. In menus you'll have a traditional VR interface with a hand controlled pointer for navigating those.
Arena Mode
Our New Gamemode is a death match style arena. Up to 8 players can play at once. Choose from one of 3 weapons to equip your drone and look out for EMP and missle pickups. Also included are repair and shield pickups. You'll be able to choose how long you want the match run from 5 to 15 minutes.
UI
The UI is getting an overhaul in this update to look a little more modern.
All UIs, HUDs and the VR UIs as well will be updated to this new style.
Maps
We have several new maps that are going to be coming out in this version.
