addedRecently, I’ve been focusing on a visual overhaul of the game. My goal wasn't to rework every single asset from scratch (to save time!), but rather to elevate the overall quality and atmosphere of the existing art style. By enhancing textures, material shaders, lighting, and effects, the game does not feel as "plastic" and sterile anymore. Instead, it now has a gritty, lived-in edge, like a wet, rough, and shiny cyberpunk setting.

In the new version, there is also no longer a single spot in the level that feels motionless. Even though the game is built on hard surfaces and simple geometric shapes, everything now has a subtle sense of movement or animation:

  • Inside the Arena: Wall lights pulse gently, and volumetric fog slowly creeps across the ground.

  • At the Arena's Edge: Shiny moving lights catch the eye alongside an animated force-field barrier.

  • In the Distance: Stars flicker behind a pulsing hyper-grid background.

Additionally, every level now features its own dedicated color scheme, with the arena lights and force fields pulsing in harmony with that specific palette.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of different scenes, with the old look on the left and the reworked graphics on the right:

The differences may seem subtle at first glance, but if you look closely, you will notice how all the improved details and effects create a richer atmosphere.

I will soon update the Steam store page with images and videos featuring the new graphics, but it will take some time to replace all of them.

Let me know in the comments if you agree that this graphics enhancement was the right call and if you like what you see. Until next time!
